DDOSC–Maragusan Hosts Two-Day IEC Materials and Copyright Workshop

The RDS Maragusan together with RDD, successfully conducted a two-day IEC Materials Workshop and Copyright Application Process on November 27–28, 2025, at AVR.

Resource speakers, Mr. Ron Gerard A. Celada and Mr. Domy Bon M. Untalan, MSc, delivered interactive and insightful sessions. During the first session, Mr. Celada introduced participants to various applications and digital tools that can be used in crafting and developing IEC materials. He also discussed key principles in layout, helping participants understand how to create visually appealing and effective IEC outputs.

The workshop further guided participants through the step-by-step procedures of the copyright application process, with the speakers emphasizing the importance of protecting original works through proper intellectual property documentation.

Faculty and staff actively engaged in hands-on exercises and collaborative activities, gaining practical skills in designing clear, engaging, and audience-responsive IEC materials.

Overall, the two-day workshop fostered creativity, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of intellectual property rights, thereby strengthening DDOSC’s capacity to produce high-quality IEC materials aligned with institutional goals.

DDOSC Upholds Excellence at ISSAAS 2025!

At the International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences (ISSAAS) National Scientific Congress 2025 & International Forum on Agri-Future, held from July 22 to 24, 2025, at AMCO Beach Resort, Baler, Aurora, Philippines, Ms. Rochelly Jane C. Razonabe represented Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) through the presentation of her pioneering research.

Her study on the “Morphophysico-Chemical Properties of Soils under Cavendish Banana Production Areas in Maragusan, Davao de Oro” reveals vital insights into soil health and fertility that drive sustainable Cavendish banana farming. By analyzing soil characteristics and fertility challenges, her research offers practical solutions for boosting productivity and sustainability.

This achievement highlights DDOSC-Research & Development’s dedication to cutting-edge agricultural research and its leadership role in regional agri-innovation. Proudly advancing science, empowering communities!

Stakeholder Consultation to Strengthen Partnerships for Youth and Community Development

On May 16, 2025, the Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) Maragusan Campus, through the Research and Development Section and the Extension Services Section, in collaboration with the Student Council and Organization Section, successfully conducted a stakeholder consultation between the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Poblacion Maragusan and Junior Chamber International (JCI) Pyagsawitan, Maragusan Chapter.
This initiative brought together key personnel from various local agencies, DDOSC teaching and non-teaching staff, alumni, student leaders, and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and promote youth engagement.

Among the distinguished attendees were Hon. Eufelo Anino, Barangay Poblacion Councilor and representative of JCI Maragusan Pyagsawitan; Hon. Armielle Gayoso, Chairperson for Education and Culture, External Linkages, Internationalization & Promotion of SK Poblacion; Ms. Crisamay Tabigue from the Municipal Planning and Development Office, LGU Maragusan; and members of the DDOSC Maragusan community.

Held at the RDEP Conference Room, the consultation aimed to gather valuable insights to support the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the involved partners.

Mr. Nick Alvin Asidoy, ESS Coordinator, opened the session by emphasizing the importance of stakeholder engagement and multi-sectoral partnerships. Ms. Sarah Jean A. Gerundio and Mr. Carlo Jay Seno presented the roles and responsibilities of each party based on the draft MOU/MOA. The forum also served as a platform for clarifying provisions and incorporating collective feedback to improve the agreements.

The event concluded with empowering words from Ms. Daryl Tabigue, Head of the Administrative and Finance Unit, DDOSC Maragusan.

This meaningful activity reflects the college’s commitment to fostering collaboration between academic institutions and youth organizations, laying the foundation for impactful research and extension initiatives that benefit the broader community.

Two-Day Training Workshop on Data Analysis Using Statistical Tools and GAD Scoring

The DDOSC Research and Development Section- Maragusan was successfully organized a two-day training workshop on December 5-6, 2024 held at the DDOSC Computer Laboratory spearheaded by the R&D Coordinator Ms. Sarah Jean A. Gerundio, MSc.

This workshop featured two highly esteemed and dynamic resource speakers. The first session, focused on Gender and Development (GAD) Scoring, was facilitated by the humble yet knowledgeable Mr. Jeson N. Geroche, Associate Professor V. Mr. Rholey R. Picaza, Associate Professor II, led the sessions on Data Analysis Using Statistical Tools, delivering his insights with energy and expertise.

The training was attended by representatives from various schools in Maragusan, Davao de Oro, including:

• New Albay Elementary School
• Maragusan National High School
• Bagong Silang National High School
• DDOSC Faculty and Staff

The primary goal of this workshop was to equip participants with enhanced skills in utilizing statistical tools, empowering them to excel in their research pursuits and integrate these tools into their future endeavors.

This collaborative event showcased the commitment of DDOSC and its partners to fostering research excellence and supporting the professional growth of educators and researchers in the region.
