DDOSC Research and Development Section - Maragusan Branch

The Davao de Oro State College – Research and Development Section, Maragusan Branch, in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Poblacion, Maragusan, recently concluded the successful 3rd International Intercollegiate Multidisciplinary Research Conference (IIMRC) 2026. With the full support and guidance of the Branch Director and Research and Development Section Head, Engr. Grace O. Tulang, Ph.D., the two-day conference was successfully conducted on August 22–23, 2026, at the Davao de Oro State College – Maragusan Branch.

The conference brought together participants from various higher education institutions and secondary schools across the Province of Davao de Oro. It served as an avenue for students, researchers, educators, and academic institutions to present and share their research outputs, exchange knowledge and ideas, and promote a culture of research, innovation, and academic excellence.

The successful conduct of the 3rd IIMRC 2026 reflects the continued commitment of the Davao de Oro State College – Maragusan Branch, together with its partner stakeholders, to strengthen research collaboration and provide meaningful opportunities for emerging researchers to showcase their scholarly works.

The Research and Development Section of Maragusan Research and Development Section successfully conducted a re-echo training on Basic Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing. The activity was initiated by Engr. Grace O. Tulang, Ph.D., Head of the Research and Development Section, as part of the institution’s continuing effort to strengthen research capabilities among faculty members.

The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and technical skills of faculty researchers in the use of GIS and remote sensing technologies, particularly in developing accurate and effective maps for their respective research studies. Through the activity, participants gained valuable insights into spatial data analysis, mapping techniques, and the practical applications of GIS in research and development.

Faculty members from the Agriculture Department and the Entrepreneurship Department actively participated in the training, demonstrating their commitment to advancing research competencies and integrating innovative technologies into their academic and research endeavors.

DDOSC–Maragusan Hosts Two-Day IEC Materials and Copyright Workshop

The RDS Maragusan together with RDD, successfully conducted a two-day IEC Materials Workshop and Copyright Application Process on November 27–28, 2025, at AVR.

Resource speakers, Mr. Ron Gerard A. Celada and Mr. Domy Bon M. Untalan, MSc, delivered interactive and insightful sessions. During the first session, Mr. Celada introduced participants to various applications and digital tools that can be used in crafting and developing IEC materials. He also discussed key principles in layout, helping participants understand how to create visually appealing and effective IEC outputs.

The workshop further guided participants through the step-by-step procedures of the copyright application process, with the speakers emphasizing the importance of protecting original works through proper intellectual property documentation.

Faculty and staff actively engaged in hands-on exercises and collaborative activities, gaining practical skills in designing clear, engaging, and audience-responsive IEC materials.

Overall, the two-day workshop fostered creativity, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of intellectual property rights, thereby strengthening DDOSC’s capacity to produce high-quality IEC materials aligned with institutional goals.
