Recognition for Research Excellence
The College proudly shares the achievement of its student researchers whose study entitled โInvestigating the Potential of Roselle Calyx as a Sustainable Sour Seasoning Mixโ was awarded as FIRST RUNNER-UP during the 10th Student Research Congress (Area: Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, and Natural Resources).
This research was presented by Arlyn R. Guba, Benydick A. Manzano, John Michael A. Palacio, Nichole A. Palapala, Aivan Jasper A. Villamor, Alicia Daphne P. Navarro, Vanessa Gutierrez, and Cielo Bea A. Ines.

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP)
proudly showcased excellence at the Vigan Longganisa Cookfest 2026 held on January 22, 2026, earning top honors in both the College and Professional categories.
In Category B, UNP made a strong statement as the team of Catalina Diones, Deniel Pasion, and Marlouie Dela Cruz, coached by Ms. Airah Bielza, clinched 1st Place. Adding to this achievement, another UNP team composed of Danica Rabara, Paolos Udarbe, and Jhon Paul Alinton, under the guidance of Mr. Jemson R. Barisoro, secured 2nd Place, marking a remarkable sweep for the university.
UNP's excellence extended to Category C as faculty members from the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) also stood out. The team of Mr. Dave Angelo R Asuncion, Dr. Rogelio D. Quario II, and Dr. Kevin Cesar T. Martinez earned 2nd Place, while Mr. Alden Baldos, Dr. Mitessa Inah R. Reynante, and Dr. Joan Marie Guzman took home 3rd Place.
Organized by the City Government of Vigan, the Vigan Longganisa Cookfest celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Ilocos Sur through its iconic Vigan longganisa. More than a competition, the event highlights creativity, innovation, and cultural prideโbringing together students,faculty, professionals in advancing local gastronomy as a key driver of tourism and economic development.
