The Final Session!

Nine sessions. Nine opportunities to learn, create, and grow as young campus journalists. ✍️✨

We wrap up our 9-session Campus Journalism Bootcamp with Editorial Cartooning, where ideas, issues, and opinions come alive through the power of visual storytelling.

For our final session, we are pleased to welcome Mr. Alvin T. Vargas, Teacher III at Catanduanes National High School.

Sir Alvin is a graduate of Catanduanes State University, with a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English. For 13 years, he has taught English and Journalism, helping young learners strengthen their writing, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Beyond the classroom, he has distinguished himself as a consistent winning coach in Editorial Cartooning, mentoring young artists in transforming relevant issues and powerful ideas into meaningful visual messages. His passion for digital arts and graphic design further enriches his creative work and expertise. 🖌️💡

As we close this year's bootcamp, we couldn't think of a better way to end our journey than by celebrating the intersection of journalism, creativity, and art.

A multiple regional and national journalism awardee, he has also served as a resource speaker, trainer, and judge in News Writing and Copyediting and Headline Writing in both English and Filipino. 🏆📝

Our young campus journalists will learn how to:

Ready to take your writing to the next level?

Join us as we welcome Mr. Paul John C. Padilla, Master Teacher I of the Special Program in Journalism at Virac Pilot Elementary School (SPJ), for an engaging session on Column Writing.

With more than a decade of experience in public education, Mr. Padilla has mentored award-winning campus journalists and guided school publications to success at the division, regional, and national levels. His coaching achievements include leading his team to 1st Place in Sports Page (2024) and mentoring a student who qualified for the National Schools Press Conference in Column Writing–English (2026).

Beyond campus journalism, he is a nationally recognized coach and writer. He coached the 2nd Place Spoken Poetry winner at the UNESCO-APNIEVE National Peacetival (2021) and won 1st Place in the Department of Education's National Storybook Writing Competition (2023).
