ADDC3LL proudly congratulates Sir Kid, for placing 2nd Runner-Up at the PCQC 2026 Brewing Competition held at the Sultan Kudarat Convention Center, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat, among 58 brewers. ☕✨

We also congratulate Florence and Ged, Ateneo de Davao University students and members of the Blue Bean Society for advancing to the semifinals and securing a Top 15 finish out of 58 participants.

A true celebration of skill, dedication, and the growing excellence of our coffee community. 🤎🤍

ADDC3LL & BBS joins the first DARCES Farmers Field Day 2026: Roots and Brews held at DARCES Manambulan, Tugbok District, Davao City.

The event brought together coffee farmers, baristas, students, enthusiasts, and members of the local coffee community to celebrate Davao coffee and the people behind every cup.

Sir Kid Bation represented ADDC3LL as one of the judges for The Duo Craft Brewing Competition.

Three Ateneo de Davao University students, also representing the Blue Beans Society, joined the competition. Each participant was paired with a local coffee farmer, highlighting collaboration among the academe, the coffee community, and the farming sector.

We proudly congratulate Sophia Tancinco, a BS Nursing student, and Tatay Berto, a coffee farmer from Alegre Farms, for garnering 3rd Runner-Up among the competing pairs. ☕✨

Thank you to Mr. Norland Salazar Jr. for inviting ADDC3LL to be part of this meaningful gathering.

Through events like this, ADDC3LL continues to support spaces for coffee education, farmer collaboration, student learning, and the appreciation of locally grown coffee.

The Ateneo de Davao Coffee and Cacao Collaborative Learning Laboratory successfully concluded the 2-day faculty training for the course, The World of Coffee: Culture, Science, and Sustainability

Held on May 14–15, the training gathered faculty members who are beginning their journey into coffee education. The sessions were designed as an introductory and foundational learning experience, allowing participants to explore the basics of coffee through an interdisciplinary lens.

Faculty participants were introduced to the fundamentals of coffee, from history, farming, processing, and roasting to sensory evaluation, cupping, sustainability, and brewing. Through beginner-friendly activities, the training offered a practical first look at coffee as a platform for learning, research, innovation, and community engagement.
ADDC3LL extends its sincere appreciation to all participating faculty members for their openness, curiosity, and active participation throughout the training.

This initiative reflects ADDC3LL’s commitment to building a community of educators who can introduce coffee education to more learners through accessible, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.

This trademark registration strengthens our commitment to coffee and cacao education, research, processing, training, and community-based innovation for Mindanao’s farmers, learners, and partners.

ANNOUNCEMENT | Ateneo de Davao University Receives Trademark Registration for the Ateneo de Davao Coffee and Cacao Collaborative Learning Laboratory (ADDC3LL)

Ateneo de Davao University is proud to announce the formal trademark registration of the Ateneo de Davao Coffee and Cacao Collaborative Learning Laboratory (ADDC3LL) with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, registered on the 27th of February 2026 under Class 40 for coffee roasting and processing, valid for ten years until 2036.

ADDC3LL links academic research with grassroots innovation in Mindanao's coffee and cacao sectors, serving as a hub for training, technology transfer, and agro-enterprise development.

Congratulations to Engr. Francis Christopher C. Bation and his team, and to Mr. Ed Ivan M. Bardoquillo, Officer-in-Charge of the Innovation Technology and Support Office (ITSO), for facilitating this registration.

Brewing Ideas Together ☕🤝

ADDC3LL faculty representatives met with the team from Davao del Sur State College – Regional Coffee Innovation Center for a meaningful discussion on potential research collaborations.

Special thanks to Dr. Regie Patagoc and Mr. Jan Christian Enero for the engaging exchange of ideas and shared commitment to advancing coffee research in the region.

Held on April 29 at the RCIC Conference Room, DSSC Campus, this meeting marks another step toward strengthening partnerships that support innovation in the coffee industry.
