Unity in Action: Fostering a Sustainable Community through Extensive Support in Barangay Bucana, Davao City
The University of Southeastern Philippines-Obrero Campus NSTP-CWTS, led by NSTP Director Allan H. Navales along with CWTS instructors and students, has extended its assistance and forged collaborations with the Region XI Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and various agencies such as the PNP, CENRO, and DENR. This initiative aligns with Proclamation No. 470, which designates the 3rd Saturday of September as International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day, in observance of the global coastal cleanup celebration with the theme: Clean seas for blue economy.
In an interview, Mr. Allan H. Navales stated, “The world is really in need of this; the global community should come together to help reduce the garbage scattered along our shores.”
A comprehensive overview reveals that garbage segregation, disposal, and management significantly impact our community, especially those living in coastal areas.
Through the NSTP-CWTS program, students actively participated in the initiative, igniting their passion for helping the community and the environment.
The youth are the bringers of positive change, coming together to work towards a cleaner coastal area.
This initiative allows us to identify potential problems and solutions, as well as the future impact of our efforts.
Let’s rise together! Now is the time to champion environmental protection and ignite change.
Together, let us continue our micro efforts, as they will create macro effects for meaningful and transformative change.
