Tears of joy marked a meaningful transition as the Daniel M. Perez Central Elementary School community bid farewell to Ma'am Renalyn S. Calunzag during the symbolic turnover ceremony held at Marilog Central District on August 10, 2026. Some farewells are hard to say because they remind us of the important journey we have taken together, not because they mark an end.
During the symbolic turnover ceremony, the Daniel M. Perez Central Elementary School SPED Center community accompanied Ma'am Renalyn S. Calunzag to Marilog Central District, where she formally took on her new role as Public Schools District Supervisor.
For more than three years, Ma'am Renalyn served as the school's principal with dedication, warmth, and unwavering commitment. Her cheerful smile, approachable leadership, and genuine concern for teachers, learners, parents, and school partners made her more than an administratorโshe became a source of encouragement and inspiration to the entire school community.
The Marilog Central District ceremony was both joyful and emotional. There was great pride in witnessing her step up to more responsibility in the Department of Education, even though it was difficult to let go of a leader who had grown to be a significant part of the school's everyday operations.
Representatives from Daniel M. Perez Central Elementary School participated in the event to personally bid her farewell and convey their appreciation for the years of friendship, leadership, and guidance that she provided to the school. Warm embraces, heartfelt messages, and happy tears filled the moment, a fitting homage to a leader whose presence had made a lasting impression on the community.
As Ma'am Renalyn begins this new chapter of service in Marilog Central District, the Daniel M. Perez Central Elementary School family carries with it the lessons and memories she leaves behind. Her leadership will continue to be remembered not only through the programs she helped strengthen but also through the relationships she built with the people she served.
Though she now begins a new journey in another district, she leaves behind a grateful school community that proudly celebrates her next step in public service.
