OWN TIMELINE 🎓
“Never in a million years did I imagine this day would come,” Xian Lim shared after finally earning his college diploma.
The actor and filmmaker graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Production from De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde on July 4, 2026.
Xian completed the degree through Benilde’s Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program, or ETEEAP, which allows qualified professionals to earn academic credit for relevant knowledge, skills, training, and work experience.
Before graduation, he completed his final Music Production recital in December 2025 and passed his final academic validation in April 2026.
“Today isn’t just about earning a diploma. It’s a reminder that life doesn’t always follow the timeline we imagine—and that’s okay,” he reflected.
“Sometimes the detours become the very roads that lead us where we’re meant to be.”
His graduation came after years of working in acting, filmmaking, music, and other creative pursuits while returning to complete a long-delayed academic goal.
Xian also thanked the mentors, professors, classmates, and members of the Benilde community who became part of his journey.
“Every conversation, every lesson, every challenge, and every bit of encouragement became part of this journey. You helped make this moment possible,” he wrote.
During the commencement ceremony, he carried with him the message: “Be useful. Be kind.”
For students and professionals whose education did not follow a traditional path, his milestone shows that a delayed degree is not a failed dream.
Life may lead people through work, responsibilities, changes, and unexpected detours before bringing them back to the classroom.
What matters is continuing to learn and being willing to return when the opportunity comes.
Xian’s journey did not follow the timeline he once imagined.
But on July 4, that long and winding road finally led him to the graduation stage.
