CTU Argao Commends Dr. Judith M. Aleguen’s Ph.D. Achievement in Research and Evaluation

Cebu Technological University–Argao Campus proudly commends Dr. Judith M. Aleguen, BSEd-Mathematics Core Faculty and CoEd Research Coordinator for earning her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Research and Evaluation from Cebu Normal University (CNU) on November 3, 2025.

Dr. Aleguen’s academic success is highlighted by her dissertation titled “Rationalizing the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Academic Writing,” a timely and thought-provoking study that highlights into the ethical and pedagogical dimensions of integrating AI technologies into scholarly research. Her work explores the importance of balancing technological innovation with academic integrity—an issue that links strongly within today’s digital learning environment.

Her remarkable achievement stands as a reflection of her scholarly excellence, to continuous learning. It also brings immense pride and inspiration to the CTU Argao community, affirming the university’s mission to nurture educators and researchers who lead with competence, integrity, and vision.

📢 ANNOUNCEMENT
New Midterm Examination Schedule

Please be informed that the Midterm Examination of Cebu Technological University – Argao Campus is rescheduled to October 25–30, 2025.

All faculty members are advised to strictly adhere to this new schedule and ensure that students are properly guided regarding examination protocols and permit requirements.

Resumption of Face-to-Face Classes (starting October 20), Safety Precautions, and Midterm Examination Schedule (October 25 - 30)

Following the CTU Engineering Department’s assessment confirming that all academic buildings are safe for occupancy, face-to-face classes will officially resume on October 20, 2025 (Monday).

The Midterm Examination will be held from October 25-30, 2025. Faculty members are advised to follow the schedule and guide students on exam protocols and permit requirements.

Everyone is reminded to observe safety precautions inside the campus:
• Perform “Duck, Cover, and Hold” during shakes or jolts.
• Avoid running along corridors or stairways.
• Do not drag furniture or engage in heavy movements, especially on upper floors.
• Stay on the ground floor or open areas when no classes are scheduled.
• Faculty should orient students on safety and evacuation protocols.
• Follow instructions from the DRRM Team during emergencies.

Let us all remain alert and prioritize safety as we resume face-to-face classes and conduct midterm examinations.

Please be informed that there will be a Campus-Wide EARTHQUAKE DRILL on Monday, October 20, 2025, following the schedule below:

🕖 7:45 AM – Flag Raising Ceremony
🕗 8:00 AM – Talk on CTU-Argao Campus Earthquake Safety Tips
🕣 8:30 AM – Application / Earthquake Drill Proper

All faculty members, employees, and students are required to attend.
Students’ Curricular Organizations are directed to strictly monitor attendance during the drill and determine appropriate penalties for non-participation.

This activity aims to enhance earthquake preparedness and response awareness among all CTU-Argao constituents. It also seeks to ensure that everyone knows the proper safety procedures to follow during an earthquake, promoting a culture of safety, discipline, and disaster resilience within the campus community.

📢 CTUAC Class Advisory

Pursuant to CTU Memorandum No. PUP-326, s. 2025, issued by the Office of the University President and CTUAC Memorandum No. 1025-966, Series of 2025 on the Conduct of Work-From-Home (WFH) and Flexible Learning Arrangement (FLA) Across All Campuses, all CTU-Argao Campus classes shall shift to ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS and/or ASYNCHRONOUS SESSIONS from October 13–19, 2025 (Monday to Sunday) including evening classes, special programs and extension campuses.

Furthermore:
1. Faculty members conducting synchronous sessions are required to record their online classes to accommodate students who cannot join virtually due to intermittent internet connection or lack of gadgets.

2. For asynchronous sessions, teachers must provide reasonable learning activities and allow ample time for students to accomplish and submit them, considering the situation and the degree of task difficulty.

3. Faculty under the Work-From-Home arrangement shall prepare and submit an accomplishment report covering this period, to be attached to their October Daily Time Record (DTR).

4. All instruction-related activities requiring physical presence, such as Academic Convocations, meetings, and student-facilitated events, are suspended and shall resume once conditions or situations permit.

Let us continue to prioritize safety, flexibility, and mental health during this challenging time.

Due to the earthquake experienced at 1:06 AM on October 13, 2025, all CTUAC classes shall shift to online synchronous or asynchronous sessions starting October 13, 2025, until further notice.

The Midterm Examination is rescheduled to October 21–26, 2025.

An approved memorandum regarding this update will be released early morning today.

Everyone is advised to remain alert and prioritize safety at all times.

ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL CTUACers:

The northern part of Cebu was struck by a Magnitude 6.9 earthquake last night, greatly affecting one of our campuses, CTU-Daanbantayan (CTU-DB), along with its extension campuses.

In response, we are humbly calling on our dear students and major curricular organizations to extend their support through donations of basic needs:
1. Each class/section – 2 sets of 5-gallon water containers
2. Major Curricular Organizations – canned goods, noodles, and other food items

All donations will be gathered at the BERKS Activity Center (SSG Office) tomorrow morning, October 2, after which they will be transported directly to CTU-Daanbantayan.

Let us stand together as one CTU community in this time of need.

As we open the First Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026, I warmly welcome each of you — both our returning students and those who are beginning their college journey here at Cebu Technological University – Argao Campus.

College life is a privilege and a responsibility. It is a season to develop not only your intellect but also your character. You are now college students — young men and women expected to think critically, communicate respectfully, act responsibly, and uphold the values of discipline, integrity, and excellence. Your behavior, decisions, and academic performance should reflect the maturity and professionalism expected of scholars in higher education.

As your Dean of Instruction, I encourage you to take ownership of your learning, manage your time wisely, participate actively in campus life, and always strive for your best. Remember that this campus is a shared space — treat it with respect, and treat everyone in it with kindness.
