PHILOSOPHIES OF EDUCATION Simplified Version.

*Reading is a tool to sharpen the memory of your brain.
1. Essentialism- back to basic, 4r's (reading, writing, arithmetic and right conduct )
Teacher centered
2. Existentialism- existence, choice, freedom, and responsibility.
Student-centered
3. Pereniallism- forever and unchanging they believe that knowledge is constant and is still valuable for the next generations.
Teacher centered
4. Pragmatism- practical: action. Meaning they believe na theories are true when they can be used for practical reasons( ito yung mahirap utangan)
5. Progressivism- change of behavior , progress, improvement.
We will put it in a classroom setting
Teacher F decided that for today's lesson she will use paper and pencil test to evaluate student performance but her students requested in doing a role playing. In a progressivist approach teacher F will adjust to students needs and interest.
6. Idealism- the truth exist on the mind only , value and moral. Meaning idealist believe that something is true because they value and believe on it. Like we love and believe in God even if we do not see him, right?
( Murag kanang feeling nimo crush ka Niya Kay mao may imoha ideal)
7. Realism - mortal enemy of idealist (kidding)
Believes in the mantra that what can be seen is true. Kung anong nakikita o nahahawakan mo yun ang totoo .
8. Empiricism- pertains to the knowledge that we can acquire by using our SENSES.
9. Constructivism- to build from an existing experiences or knowledge. Basta build, buil, build.
10. Social Reconstructionism- society, refinement, improvement.
To make it more understandable- mga activities na ginagawa para ma reconstruct or mabago ang society.
