The Skills Training in Industrial Motor Control – Phase 2 continues to showcase Cebu Technological University – Main Campus’ strong commitment to enhancing technical expertise, promoting professional development, and empowering local communities. Conducted at the LGU of Barangay Lahug, the 40-hour training offered participants a comprehensive learning experience that blended essential theoretical concepts with intensive, hands-on laboratory exercises in industrial motor control systems.
Led by the College of Engineering Community Extension Team (COECET), the program was supervised by Project Leader Engr. Marvin A. Radaza, together with Engr. Ferdinand Batayola, Engr. Wilen Melsedec O. Narvios, Engr. Joecyn Archival, Engr. Jayson Jueco, Engr. Gilbert M. Silagpo, and Engr. Eleazar V. Opura. Their collective expertise ensured the effective delivery of training sessions focused on key competencies such as basic contactor wiring, self-holding circuits, overload protection, interlocking systems, timer-based sequential controls, and start–stop motor operations.
This initiative reflects CTU Main Campus’ dedication to providing industry-aligned, community-centered training programs that support inclusive technical growth. Through hands-on experiments and guided practice, participants were able to apply theoretical lessons to real-world industrial setups—enhancing their confidence, strengthening their capabilities, and improving their overall job readiness.
Beyond technical instruction, the program also served as an avenue for community involvement, skills enhancement, and personal advancement. Participants expressed high appreciation for the training’s well-structured modules, practical activities, and supportive learning environment, emphasizing its positive impact on their performance and career development. The continued demand for more advanced phases underscores the program’s relevance and effectiveness in addressing community workforce needs.

The Optimization of School Renovation and Application of Green Facade towards Sustainability is an extension project that exemplifies Cebu Technological University – Main Campus’ strong commitment to fostering environmental responsibility and sustainable innovation. Implemented last June 19–20, 23–24, and July 1, 2025, at Arcelo Memorial National High School, Poblacion, Municipality of Liloan, Cebu, the project aimed to transform traditional learning spaces into eco-friendly and energy-efficient environments through renovation and the integration of green architectural features.
Spearheaded by Civil and Mechanical Engineering under the College of Engineering Community Extension Team (COECET), the initiative was led by Project Leader Arch. Alaine Tess Cabije led the initiative, along with Dr. Lawrence T. Orjalesa, Dr. Hana Astrid Canseco-Tunacao, and Dr. Jeonel S. Lumbab, as well as Engr. Ryan P. Luciano and Engr. Leo Nhel D. Abao. This project reflects CTU Main Campus’ dedication to promoting green infrastructure and sustainable learning environments. Through collaborative efforts, classrooms and facilities were renovated, and green facades—plant-based vertical coverings for walls were installed to encourage natural cooling, reduce carbon emissions, and create a refreshing atmosphere conducive to learning.
Beyond infrastructure enhancement, the initiative also served as a platform for environmental awareness and community participation, inspiring students, teachers, and residents to uphold the values of sustainability and shared responsibility for the environment.
The optimization of the school renovation and application of the green facade towards the sustainability project concluded with strengthened partnerships, inspired participants, and a renewed commitment to advancing green and sustainable practices across local schools and communities.

Basic Electrical Wiring Installation—Batch 5 extension project successfully conducted a skills training program last July 7–11, 2025, at the LGU of Barangay Biasong, Talisay City, Cebu. The Electrical Engineering Department Community Extension Team (CET) of Cebu Technological University - Main Campus spearheaded the training, under the leadership of Project Leader Engr. Ferdinand F. Batayola. The team was led by Project Leader Engr. Ferdinand F. Batayola, who collaborated with Dr. Wilen Melsedec Narvious, Dr. Joecyn Archival, Engr. Jayson Jueco, Engr. Marvin Radaza and the BSEE students.The program was designed to equip participants with essential competencies in electrical installation and maintenance, focusing on three core areas: performing roughing-in activities and cabling works, installing protective devices for power and lighting systems, and setting up wiring devices such as outlets and switches.
Throughout the training, participants actively engaged in hands-on exercises, applying theoretical knowledge to practical electrical work. This experiential learning approach enhanced their understanding of electrical safety, system layouts, and installation procedures, empowering them to become confident and job-ready in the electrical trade.
Through this extension initiative, the Electrical Engineering Department of CTU Main Campus continues to promote technical excellence, sustainable livelihood, and community empowerment. The project embodies the university’s mission of delivering inclusive and skill-oriented education, preparing individuals to meet the growing demand for competent electricians in the workforce.
