𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The University of Cebu–Main College of Hospitality and Tourism Management gathered industry partners for its Industry Partners Recognition Day 2026 at Cebu Parklane International Hotel on May 21.

The event celebrated partner establishments through plaque presentations and welcomed new tourism industry partners through a ceremonial signing for the BSTM program. The initiative highlighted the value of strong academe-industry partnerships in creating meaningful training and career opportunities for students.

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) of the University of Cebu – Main Campus successfully conducted the Industry Partners Recognition and Meeting 2026 last May 21 (Thursday) at Cebu Parklane International Hotel.

The event gathered esteemed industry partners from hotels, resorts, restaurants, and travel and tour agencies across Cebu to celebrate their invaluable contributions and continued support in the successful implementation of the internship program for Academic Year 2025–2026.

A key highlight of the program was the ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with newly partnered travel and tour agencies. This milestone marks the expansion of internship opportunities for the pioneering batch of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students, further strengthening the link between academe and industry.

Through this meaningful collaboration, the University of Cebu – Main Campus continues to reinforce its commitment to producing globally competitive graduates equipped with real-world experience and industry-ready skills.

The UC Main CHTM extends its heartfelt gratitude to all partner establishments for their unwavering support in shaping the future of hospitality and tourism education.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: On May 12 and 14, 2026, the University of Cebu Main Campus hosted the first Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Seminar-Workshop, which brought together first-year BSTM, third-year BSHM, and fourth-year BSHM students from the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management for two motivating days of learning and excellence.

In order to enable upcoming tourism and hospitality professionals to proudly reflect the Filipino brand of excellence, the seminar-workshop emphasized the significance of world-class Filipino hospitality, professionalism, and service culture in the tourism industry.

Distinguished trainers and facilitators 𝑴𝒔. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒂 "𝑷𝑮" 𝑮𝒖𝒃𝒂, DOT Region 7 Trainer, 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒚 𝑨𝒏𝒏 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒄, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒔. 𝑹𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑱𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝑰𝒔𝒓𝒂𝒆𝒍 were also present to further honor the event. Their knowledge and insights encouraged students to harness their excitement and elevate their passion for service in the hospitality industry.

The FBSE Seminar-Workshop was a significant event for the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, demonstrating that UC Main continues to develop professionals that are service-oriented and globally competitive through thought-provoking conversations and captivating educational opportunities.

The 𝑼𝑪𝑪𝑷 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒚-𝑳𝒂𝒘𝒔 has long served as the foundation of student leadership and representation in the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 – 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬. Since its ratification in 2009, it has guided the council's operations, upheld student rights, and delivered services to the UCnian community. However, as the years pass, students' needs, perspectives, and realities continue to evolve alongside the institution itself.

A 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 should not remain stagnant while the community it serves continues to evolve. The discussion on a possible constitutional change opens an opportunity to revisit whether the current provisions still align with the interests and welfare of today’s UCnians. 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜; sometimes, it simply means there is room to improve and align leadership with the realities students are currently facing. More than a revision of policies, this is a chance to evaluate how student governance can remain relevant, transparent, and responsive to the community it serves.
