𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞-𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐱 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐓𝐒𝐃) in fish means embryonic temperature decides s*x. In TSD species, there is a "𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝" when embryos are highly sensitive to heat. Extreme temperatures during this window alter hormone activity, skewing s*x ratios. This makes fish vulnerable to climate change, as shifting temperatures can disrupt reproduction.

It’s a wrap for this week’s Weekly Assessment Session!

Another meaningful and fun-filled learning experience has been successfully completed during our 7th Capture Fisheries Weekly Assessment Session together with our seasoned coach, Coach Chressie.

The session was attended by EMORFians and guest students who actively participated throughout the discussion, making the lecture both engaging and insightful. Your enthusiasm, commitment, and eagerness to learn continue to inspire us as we move closer to our goal of becoming Registered Fisheries Professionals.

As we continue this journey, let this serve as a reminder that success is not achieved overnight. It is built through consistent effort, courage in facing challenges, discipline in preparation, and above all, faith and prayers. Keep learning, keep striving, and keep believing in yourself.
