Social Impact Catalyst - CIT University Chapter

𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐘 𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓 | Global Goals Week 2025

In celebration of 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, the essay writing contest was held on 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟵 at the 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗯. Eleven participants rose to the challenge, composing thoughtful essays within one hour, each anchored on 𝘚𝘋𝘎 12: 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. The panel of judges, composed of professors from the Department of Languages, Literature, and Communication: 𝗠𝗿. 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼, 𝗠𝗿𝘀. 𝗕𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗮.

The competition underscored the role of young voices in advancing sustainability, proving that reflection and dialogue through writing are powerful tools in raising awareness and inspiring action. By connecting creative expression with the global call for responsible consumption and production, the event amplified the very essence of Global Goals Week: mobilizing ideas for a better, more sustainable world.

𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐬, 𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢, 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐦, 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐬, 𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢

“𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬…” bathed in hues of gold and yellow, the HASBO booth blooms with sunflowers. These are symbols of resilience, growth, and positivity that invites every passerby to pause and turn toward light, just as sunflowers do. Beyond its beauty, the exhibit carries a deeper call: to see health not as the absence of illness, but as the presence of wholeness across every dimension of life — physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual.

At its heart are the five pillars that define HASBO’s advocacy: 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗦, the vision of holistic health; 𝗔𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗢𝗥, the calm and balance life requires; 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗘𝗠, the pursuit of wellness and prevention; 𝗕𝗜𝗢𝗦, the affirmation of life’s value; and 𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜, the inclusivity that ensures health belongs to all in different forms. Together, they form a narrative of care, resilience, and purpose.

In this space of light and warmth, HASBO champions 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟯: 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, reminding us that health is a lifelong journey, ever-flowing like a fountain, ever-turning toward hope. To step into this booth is to witness not just a display, but a promise that we are Technologians that stand for 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲.

"𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗔 𝗖𝗜𝗧-𝗨 is an organization composed of DOST-SEI scholars. Founded on the principles of leadership, innovation, excellence, and service, it creates a supportive environment where students can excel academically, grow as leaders, and contribute to the community. Guided by the mission and vision of DOST-SEI, DOST SA CIT-U is a champion of 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟰: 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

𝗦𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗬 𝗡𝗔 𝗜𝗦𝗞𝗢 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗦𝗞𝗔𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 are our projects that inform aspiring scholars about the DOST-SEI scholarship, from assisting them with the requirements up until the provision of documents to the aspiring scholars.

𝗕𝗬𝗔𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗞𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗦𝗞𝗔𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 are our DOST review sessions, where we invite aspiring scholars to become tutees and tutor them in preparation for the DOST examination. The review sessions are composed of multiple sessions tackling all subjects in the exam, which are English, Math, Science, and Reasoning.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗮 features interactive reading sessions led by DOST scholars to strengthen literacy and spark the love for reading. Students also receive donated pencils, books, and school supplies."

“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫: 𝐀 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭.

The Psychology Society booth centers on the Tree of Hope, the main highlight of the booth. This tree symbolizes our mission as future psychologist and as one society— growth, healing, and unity, reminding everyone that like a tree, hope can grow stronger when nurtured by a supportive community.

The booth design is connected to our SDG advocacies—SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). All designed to raise awareness, promote action, and encourage personal reflection.

The booth also features a Spotify playlist QR code that visitors can scan to access uplifting and calming songs, creating an environment of peace and encouragement.

Through this space, the PsychSoc aims to bring the SDGs to life, showing how mental health, education, equality, and inclusivity intersect to build a more hopeful and supportive community."

The booth of the College of Criminal Justice highlights the crucial role of criminology in promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions in line with SDG 16. The display emphasizes the five pillars of the Philippine Criminal Justice System—Law Enforcement, Prosecution, Court, Correction, and Community—as interconnected foundations of a fair and functional justice system.

Through informative visuals, case-related exhibits, and the integration of vision, mission, and goals, the booth advocates for integrity, accountability, and public service. It also showcases diverse law enforcement career paths beyond the Philippine National Police (PNP), reflecting the commitment of criminology students to strengthen institutions and address societal challenges such as crime, corruption, and community conflict.

This advocacy represents the council’s dedication to preparing future criminologists to be agents of peace, fairness, and social transformation in their communities."

The concept of our booth highlights the main advocacy for the organization which is women and LGBTQIA+ empowerment. It also shows the past events and activities, encouraging students with the opportunities they find when joining our organization.

All events and projects shown aligns with our main Sustainable Development Goal, SDG 5 - Gender Equality, along with SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities, by educating students on harmful gender-based prejudice and stereotypes, empowering students to apply what they learned and help create a more inclusive environment for all students."

At TechnoServe, we believe that education is the foundation of empowerment. By equipping individuals with knowledge, skills, and awareness, they become capable of driving positive change in their communities. This is why our advocacy focuses on SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Through our booth, EduSmart, CityStart, we highlight the connection between learning and building better societies. Education inspires responsibility, and when individuals are empowered, they help create cleaner, safer, and more resilient cities and towns. Our goal is to encourage students and visitors to see education not only as personal growth but as a step toward collective progress.

To bring this vision to life, we constructed our booth using recyclable and repurposed materials such as boxes, bottle caps, and takeout spoons. In doing so, we showcase how sustainability can be practiced in creative ways, reminding everyone that small choices can lead to a big impact for both people and the environment.

As a technology-driven organization, GDGoC CIT-U integrates technology into learning and collaboration, helping students gain practical skills and innovative perspectives. Through these initiatives, we nurture a culture of knowledge-sharing, problem-solving, and community growth."

𝐒𝐃𝐆 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 & 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞

We are proud to feature 𝐉𝐉𝐂 𝐂𝐈𝐓-𝐔, one of our Teknoy organizations who has taken part in the 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱.

"For our booth— JJC, we specify four SDG Goals. These goals were, 02 Zero Hunger, 03, Good health and Well-being, 04 Quality Education, and 13 Climate action, which can be seen at the interactive booklets, to let people immerse in our booth by opening the booklets to showcase our event in line with the specific SDG, its description, as well as what the specific SDG is all about. These SDGs were chosen based on our advocacy as an Organization, prioritizing a set of events and advocacies that aligns with these goals. These were specifically chosen based on our identity as an organization and what we are pushing not just within our organization but for all student leaders that want to create a positive impact to the society and the environment.

For the booth design, we focused on SDG 13, which is the climate action. This is specifically seen on our booth’s design where we mainly use recycled and waste materials from the back drop up until the little details within our booth. We utilized used architectural plates and expired coffee for our backdrop, as well as trashed cardboards for the accent of the background. The papers and vellum boards are all recycled from used papers to maximize the use waste materials and minimize impact to the environment. As our advocacy on climate action, we showcase the passion of our organization to help the mother nature by having the initiative to create an impact by such small gestures— the recycling of materials and turning garbage into crafts. As we, Junior Jaycees of CIT- University. We not only showcase our advocacies, we do them. And together with our young student leaders, we can achieve more of these by creating and uniting strong and passionate student leaders to impact the youths of the nation towards a purpose driven goal for sustainability and impact."
