“Growing big dreams in small spaces.”

The Naic Coastal Rural Farm School (RFS) team recently visited the home garden of Khyell Joriem Malabo in Bliss Labac, Naic Cavite. With the assistance of Khyell's parents, they were able to cultivate crops beside their house.

"We have enjoyed many meals from the garden," said Khyell's grandmother, who helped him cook the vegetables he grew.

The team was impressed by Khyell's dedication to his craft, utilizing even small spaces for his crops. Currently, he is growing kangkong, pechay, sitaw, and ampalaya, along with ornamental plants.

They also took the opportunity to provide advice to Khyell on how he could cultivate his garden in a sustainable manner, ensuring abundant harvests.

Khyell shared that he devotes most of his time to his garden, especially during the summer when classes are asynchronous.

"I am happy that you visited me here. I am also pleased that you have seen what I have learned in school," said Khyell.

In addition to visiting one student to provide guidance on starting his garden, the team also visited another student for the same purpose. These visits are part of the school’s initiative to assist students in creating sustainable gardens at home.
