IN PHOTOS | CELEBRATING 5 MONTHS OF IMPACT!

We are now on our 5th month of teaching and providing reading assistance to children who need it most.

Yesterday, June 20, 2026, marked the welcoming of our new batch of students identified for literacy assistance for School Year 2026-2027.
We extend our deepest gratitude to DepEd Cecilio M. Saliba Elementary School, especially to the Principal, Ma'am Mhalou Echano, and the teachers who helped identify and endorse these students from Grades 1 to 3.

Launching the Montessori Way of Teaching
Yesterday also marked the introduction of the Montessori method to our community. Teacher Malou presented practical life materials that parents can replicate at home to improve their child's hand grip using the "3 periods of learning."

She demonstrated effective reading techniques, emphasizing that letters should be introduced three at a time so children can fully master the phonetic sounds before advancing.

She also stressed the need for consistent practice at home, reminding everyone that learning should not rely solely on the school or programs like Core Education.

The "Two to Tango" Approach
Our I Love Reading Program strongly advocates for a collaborative approach. Literacy is a joint effort between the school and the home, especially since children spend most of their time with their families.

To support this, we distributed reading exercise pamphlets and requested parents to send video updates of their home reading sessions to our group chat.

Heartfelt Gratitude to Our Donors & Volunteers
We would like to express our sincere thanks to our generous donors who sponsored the food for all our student and parent participants:

Floro Dela Torre
Arlene Llaban
Jhunnar Belches
Precious Visda
Brgy. Kagawad Honofre Aspuria
..and to our dedicated Core Volunteers who continue to give their time and effort to this cause.

A Special Father's Day Celebration
To honor Father's Day, Core invited Jendo Martial Arts in the afternoon to conduct a self-defense and arnis training session for our Barangay Tanods, who are all dedicated fathers. At Core, we believe literacy extends beyond reading and writing—it also means being literate and aware of our surroundings. Our tanods learned proper techniques and realized the importance of continuous training as they protect our neighborhood daily.
Thank you, Jendo Martial Arts, for your dedication and for traveling far just to serve our community.
It truly takes a community to build a safe, clean, and responsible individual. What an incredible collaboration. We look forward to exploring more partnerships in the coming months.

On behalf of the Core Family, a huge thank you to everyone, and Happy Father's Day! 💙

The MONTH FOUR of the CEPHI Reading Program at Cecilio Saliba Elementary School proved that education is about nurturing the whole child.

This week, we went beyond the pages by introducing Jendo Martial Arts thanks to Grand Master Jun Abaya! The orientation focused on building discipline and situational awareness for our learners, while giving parents and teachers practical safety and stress-relief tips. We are incredibly excited to pioneer the integration of literacy and martial arts right here in General Trias.

Of course, our minds and bodies needed energy, and the community delivered! A heartfelt thank you to Ma’am Charisse Medina and her family for sponsoring the sweet taho treats for everyone, and to Ma’am Aisha Columna and NKGT for their vital health support for our moms and teachers.

Every session brings us closer to a brighter, more holistic future for these kids. Thank you, team.

MONTH THREE: I Love Reading, Full of Learning!

We just wrapped up the 3rd month of CEPHI’s Reading Program at Cecilio Saliba ES. After 1.5 hours of focused reading sessions, we surprised the kids with a short hiphop dance activity!

I invited Ms. Catherine May for a hiphop demo, and wow lahat naki-join! Kids, parents and Volunteers Super saya talaga. First time ng mga bata maka-experience ng intro to hiphop right after reading. Learning and movement = core CEPHI energy .

Then came the sweetest surprise
We sang Happy Birthday when Cha and Direk Boriz arrived. Si Direk wala pang idea! Nagulat na lang siya nung nakita niya yung tarpaulin. Happy Birthday, Direk! Thank you for celebrating with us.

Blessings of the day:
1. Food for all - Sobrang dami ng spaghetti from Cha & Direk Boriz. Hindi lang mga bata, pati families nakauwi pa with baon for their siblings at home.
2. Sponsors with heart - One tutee sponsored spaghetti to take home, and Ate Liza, a volunteer from La Salle Manila, donated juice for everyone. Salamat po!
3. Community care - Teacher Sonia from Cecilio Saliba dropped by to support. We also set up a small table of pre-loved clothes, and the moms were so happy choosing what they liked. Simple lang, pero ang laki ng saya.
4. Beat the heat - Sobrang init since morning, buti nagdala kami ng electric fans. Hindi nagpatalo yung init sa mission natin.

Only 17 kids attended today because some have already transferred to the province. Pero yung presence ng bawat isa - kids, parents, volunteers - ramdam na ramdam yung growth ng family natin.

Ang araw na ito was full of learning, fun, and new relationships built on the same passion and mission. It’s such a blessing to have this core group helping each other, showing up even on hot Saturdays.

CECILIO M.SALIBA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL — In a heartfelt response to the ongoing literacy challenges in the Philippines, Core Education PH Inc. (CEPHi) successfully conducted its second "I Love Reading" program yesterday, March 21, 2026. The event, held at Cecilio Saliba Elementary School in Barangay Pasong Camachile 1, focused on providing specialized support for 27 selected learners from Grades 1 to 3.

Teacher Marlyn Elgaran emphasized the critical need for CEPHi's continued intervention. She noted that for students struggling with reading, consistent and sustained programs are the only way to ensure long-term academic success. The day began at 8:00 in the morning with an organized registration.

The program officially started at 8:30am with high-energy icebreakers and games. In an inspiring turn of events, the parents of the MYMEP students, after witnessing the great need for support, have volunteered to sponsor a full lunch for the next session. This lunch allocation will thoughtfully include both the students and the parents of the Cecilio Saliba attendees.
By 9:15 AM, the children were divided into breakout groups based on their specific grade levels. These sessions, facilitated by dedicated CEPHi volunteer teachers, allowed for focused, level-appropriate reading exercises.

Support from Community / Local Sponsors The event showcased a unique spirit of "Bayanihan" through its local sponsors:Snacks and food were generously sponsored by the students of MYMEP as part of their "Little Chef" hands-on activities. Refreshing Contributions: Mr. Jeffrey Fontanilla donated 60 pieces of juice to keep the young learners energized. In an inspiring turn of events, several parents of MYMEP students have volunteered to sponsor meals for the upcoming session after witnessing the significant need for support.

We are also pleased to announce a local sponsor, Ms. Arlene Llaban, who will be contributing to this effort. This food allocation will thoughtfully include both the students and the parents of the Cecilio Saliba attendees. We warmly welcome additional sponsors, as many students from Cecilio arrive without having had breakfast.

Before heading home at 11:00 AM, each participant received two specialized reading booklets to practice their skills at home. This ensures that the momentum gained today continues throughout the coming weeks. The community is already looking forward to the next session, scheduled for April 18, 2026, at the same time and venue.

With the support of volunteers, teachers, and newfound parent-sponsors, the future of these young readers looks brighter than ever.

New Education Non-Profit Launches in Pasong Camachile 1, Kicks Off “I Love Reading” Program for Young Learners

There was a wave of hope and excitement inside the Barangay Covered Court of Pasong Camachile 1, General Trias City, Cavite today. Core Education PH Inc. - CEPHI officially launched in the community, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start than the kick-off of our very first “I Love Reading” Program for Grade 1 and 2 pupils of Cecilio Saliba Elementary School.

The event began with a solemn prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem — a reminder that this work is bigger than us. It’s for every child who dreams of finishing school with confidence.

We were honored to have Brgy. Councilor Celso Javier, Chair of the Education Committee, welcome everyone and remind us why early literacy matters: “Investing in reading today means investing in a brighter tomorrow.”

On behalf of Brgy. Chairman Honofre “Openg” Aspuria, Brgy. Councilor Jeremy Custodio, Chair of Social Services, officially welcomed CEPHI as the newest non-profit in the barangay. She shared her hope for more partnerships that bring real, relevant programs to our young learners.

Maraming salamat po sa tiwala, Barangay Pasong Camachile 1.

Our Programs Director, Jayjay Jacinto, introduced CEPHI’s heart and mission. He shared the 4 programs we’ll roll out this year for Cavite’s youth:
Reading Program
Tutorial Program
Scholarship Program
Teacher Capacity Building Program

These programs are connected by one goal: make quality education more accessible to children who need it most, so no learner gets left behind.

We were also blessed by the presence of our Executive Director, Malou Ybanez, whose leadership continues to inspire us to stay grassroots and stay true.

Then came the best part. 13 Grade 1 and 2 pupils, with their proud parents beside them, joined our first 1.5-hour reading session. With 6 amazing volunteer teachers from MYMEP, we split them into small groups so every child got personal guidance, encouragement, and lots of smiles.

The session ended with simple snacks and CEPHI “I Love Reading” shirts — and the joy on their faces said it all.

Special thanks to Teachers Ana Marie Casin and Genalyn Mebeza for supporting their students every step of the way. And to the parents: thank you for trusting us with your children for the next 3 months. Your hope that they’ll read better, pass with confidence, and move up to the next grade level is the same hope that drives us.

Today, barangay officials, teachers, volunteers, and families stood together for one purpose: our children. As CEPHI plants its roots here in Pasong Camachile 1, we dream of a future where every student is empowered, every teacher is supported, and every child has access to quality education.

The journey has begun. And it starts with one book, one child, one reader at a time.

With deepest gratitude, we honor the founders of Core Education PH Inc. - Mr. Jake Douglas and Mrs. Melissa Douglas. Thank you for making this non-profit, non-stock organization possible. Your vision continues to light the way for every child we serve.

Special thanks also to Chef Jonnalyn Belches for sponsoring the snacks for our very first “I Love Reading” Program. Your kindness nourished both the minds and hearts of our young readers.
