𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 | 𝗚𝗕𝗖𝗦 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗗𝗔

On August 15, 2026, at Monteverde Court, Grace Baptist Christian School (GBCS) faces Vox Dei Academy (VDA) in a tough basketball matchup that ends with a 79-36 score in favor of VDA. Despite the wide gap, the GBCS players keep pushing and give their best effort until the final buzzer.

Justin Luna and Rico Escober stand out for their hard work throughout the game, staying active and continuing to give their all on the court. Their effort helps keep the team fighting through every quarter, even when the game becomes challenging.

With Coach Chan Suba guiding the team from the sidelines, GBCS stays together and keeps competing until the end.

While the result is not the one they hoped for, the game gives the team valuable experience to learn from and another opportunity to improve for the next matchup.

On August 15, 2026, Grace Baptist Christian School (GBCS) volleyball athletes defeated Philippine Technilogical Institute of Science Art and Trade (PhilTech) with a final score of 2-1 at GMAISA Day 2, held at My Messiah School of Cavite.

The team showcased teamwork and camaraderie both on and off the court, earning a hard-fought victory after their match extended to three sets.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗚𝗕𝗖𝗦 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

Grace Baptist Christian School (GBCS) celebrated Buwan ng Wika on August 13, 2026, with different activities that gave students from Grades 1 to 10 a chance to use their creativity and Filipino language skills.

The Grades 1 to 3 students started with Malikhaing Pagkukulay, where they created Filipino-themed artwork using their own ideas. They also took part in Malikhaing Pagbigkas ng Tula or Spoken Poetry, where they recited poems in front of others.

Meanwhile, Grades 4 to 6 students joined Malikhaing Pagsulat and used Filipino writing to share their thoughts and ideas. They also participated in Malikhaing Pagkukwento, where they told stories and practiced speaking in Filipino.

For Grades 7 to 10, students created slogans through Malikhaing Paggawa ng Slogan using the theme “AI at Wikang Filipino sa Pananaliksik – Paghahanap, Pagsusuri, at Pag-unawa sa Impormasyon.”

Other students also participated in Malikhaing Pagbigkas ng Tula or Spoken Poetry, giving them a chance to present poems through their own style and delivery.

The activities brought different grade levels together and gave students a way to celebrate Filipino through art, writing, storytelling, and spoken poetry.

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 | 𝗚𝗕𝗖𝗦 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗼: 𝗟𝘂𝘆𝗮, 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗷𝗻 𝗚𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗔 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

On August 1, the GMAISA Chess Tournament officially commenced, at Grace Baptist Christian School (GBCS), bringing together the representatives from each schools in GMA. The opening day showcased seven rounds of intense match, where every move comes with focus and strategic planning.

Princess Erich Luya experienced a great start after winning 7 straight games which ultimately won her gold in GMAISA Chess Tournament 2026.

Kaye Laureign M. Catangay won gold in the category Board 3 Female in the Chess Tournament. She won by default after other schools had no representative for board 3. On the other hand, Jhairo Lee Claridad won silver in Board 3 Male.

Meanwhile, Allexa Danielle Buelo put up with a great performance, finishing the tournament with a strong record of 3 wins and 2 losses across 5 competitive rounds under the guidance of Coach Angelito Amor.

It was an inspiring start for GBCS as they opened GMAISA with determination, grit, and admirable sportsmanship on the board.

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 | 𝗔 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗚𝗕𝗖𝗦 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

On day 1 of the GMAISA 2026, August 1, Grace Baptist Christian School (GBCS) fought Victorious Christian Montessori (VCM) in the Girls Volleyball tournament at the My Messiah School of Cavite (MMSC) Gymnasium. Both teams gave their all in this match, displaying hard work, teamwork, and resilience as they battled for a stronger position in the standings.

VCM claimed the victory in straight sets, taking the first set, 19-25, and second set, 18-25, to obtain victory.

In spite of that, congratulations to all players who displayed determination and dedication throughout the match.

The first day of GMA-ISA, August 1, opened between a fierce basketball match between Grace Baptist Christian School (GBCS) against My Messiah School of Cavite (MMSC) at Alta Tierra Homes GMA.

Both teams showed great determination and gave their best on the court. The GBCS showed great teamwork but lacks defense on the court leading to a loss against MMSC with the score of 121-35.

It was a great start for GBCS as they opened their GMAISA with great confidence and sportsmanship.

Students participate in the Natural Disaster Awareness Event on July 31, organized by St. Lifram Travel and Tour during the Traverse Learning Experience.

Through hands-on activities such as basic Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), proper spine board handling, an earthquake simulation, and a screening of the inspiring film Fault Line, students gained valuable knowledge and skills to stay prepared and respond effectively during emergencies and natural disasters.

On July 18, 2026, at the UPHS Gymnasium, Janinelei Pedernal and Martina Landig takes the spotlight in the Chess Tournament, with Janinelei claiming the Board 1 championship, while Martina, an elementary player, secures bronze.

Janinelei Pedernal finishes her tournament at the top of Board 1, while Martina Landig battles through her games and a bronze-medal finish. Together, the two chess players give GBCS two achievements to celebrate from the competition.

Guided by Coach Angelito Amor Ung, Janinelei and Martina turn their tournament performances into proud moments for GBCS, their championship finish adds another achievement to GBCS’s growing list of medals and shows what a focused mind can accomplish on the chessboard.

On July 18, 2026, at the UPHS Gymnasium, the GBCS Taekwondo Team turns in a memorable experience, collecting medals across individual and team events and giving the school plenty to celebrate.

Raphael Miguel Sarmiento takes silver and Francis Kyrie Secreto earns bronze in Elementary Boys Individual Poomsae, while Albertine Elsa Ortiz adds another silver in Elementary Girls Individual Poomsae. Solenn Olip also brings home bronze in Secondary Girls Individual Poomsae.

In Mixed Poomsae, Thania Beatrice Tombado and Leovigildo III Panopio grab gold, while Jodee Micah Terante and Sean Bote secure silver.

Thania Beatrice Tombado, Jodee Micah Terante, and Solenn Olip then claim gold in Team Standard, with Geraldine Quimbo finishing on top in Sparring Category 4.

Under the guidance of Coach Keith Soriano, the athletes proudly represent GBCS from start to finish, turning their performances on the mat into a collection of medals and a day the school can look back on with pride.
