🌱 CBID in Action: Waterfront Spring Clean-Up Led by Deaf Inc. Student Council Guided by the principles of Community-Based Inclusive Development, Deaf Inc. Student Council officers Ivan Principe and Froidelanto Turgo are leading the charge in our next clean-up drive at the Waterfront Spring. This initiative brings together Deaf and hearing students in a shared mission: to care for our environment while modeling inclusive leadership.

CBID isn’t just about accessibility—it’s about empowering communities to shape their own future, where every voice matters and every action counts. By restoring this natural space, our students are proving that environmental stewardship is a collective responsibility, and that inclusion means building clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for all.

Together, we clean. Together, we lead. Together, we grow. 💙♻️🌊

🧱 Concrete Acts of Inclusion: Deaf and Hearing Students Build Together, Led by Ma’am Rosula Casantusan In preparation for the upcoming Sports Fest, Deaf Inc. Student Council officers—both Deaf and hearing—united under the empowering leadership of Ma’am Rosula Casantusan to launch a meaningful project: constructing concrete benches that serve as symbols of accessibility, unity, and shared pride.

This initiative goes beyond infrastructure. It’s a living example of inclusive development, where Deaf and hearing students work side by side, blending hands-on skills with heart-led advocacy. Every bucket of cement, every poured mold, and every finished bench reflects a community where differences are embraced and dignity is built into every corner.

Together, we’re not just preparing for a Sports Fest—we’re shaping a campus culture where everyone belongs, rests, and rises together. 💙🏐

🧡 Disability Rights Week 2025: Advocacy in Action 🧡

On the afternoon of July 28, Deaf Inc. proudly commemorated Disability Rights Week, following a day of vibrant Nutrition Month activities. Organized by the Deaf Inc. Student Council Officers (DSCO), the event brought together Deaf and hearing students, teachers, and staff in a meaningful celebration of inclusion, creativity, and rights-based advocacy.

Guided by the theme:
“Innovation for Inclusion: Building Inclusive Communities Together,” the program featured a keynote message from Sir John Kenneth M. Cuare, Deaf Inc.’s social worker and educator. Sir John shared a compelling reflection on the models of disability, tracing how society’s treatment of persons with disabilities (PWDs) has evolved—from marginalization and pity to empowerment and recognition. He emphasized that the theme is not merely for celebration—but a call to action: a challenge to every community to actively uphold the rights, dignity, and full participation of PWDs in all aspects of life.

The event also featured inclusive competitions that gave students and staff a platform to express advocacy through art and performance:
🎭 Boses ng Theatro – Drama Presentation
💃 Tagisan ng Pag-indak – Interpretative Dance
🖋️ Sining ng Pagsulat – Slogan Making
📝 Pagtala ng Karapatan – Essay Writing
🎙️ Sining ng Pagbigkas – Spoken Poetry
🌟 Open Talent Show – Featuring students, teachers, and staff

Disability Rights Week 2025 was a living testament to the power of inclusion, and a reminder that real change begins when awareness becomes action. 💙
