Bridging Theory and Practice: Political Science Interns Gear Up for Public Service Deployment
Bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world governance, Political Science student-interns recently embarked on an immersive ocular visit and coordination activity across Cauayan City and Cabatuan. Spearheaded by OIC Dean Mhikasa Elaine C. Fiesta and PSS Co-adviser Sir Dante Rivero—upon the strategic recommendation of Internship Adviser Atty. Carina Pajarillo—the delegation conducted vital site assessments at the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) in Cauayan City, alongside key Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices. Designed to prepare students for the upcoming Academic Year 2026–2027 internship deployment, this proactive initiative aimed to thoroughly familiarize future public servants with their prospective professional environments while solidifying institutional partnerships.
Through on-site observations, dynamic consultations, and direct coordination, the student-interns gained invaluable firsthand insights into the day-to-day functions, work environments, and legal-administrative responsibilities unique to these front-line government agencies. This hands-on exposure not only evaluated the suitability of the offices as fertile training grounds but also ensured that the upcoming field deployment remains deeply aligned with the students' academic goals and aspirations in public service. Ultimately, this foundational groundwork guarantees a well-coordinated and impactful internship experience, empowering the next generation of leaders to navigate the complexities of governance with confidence and clarity.
