CAUAYAN CITY โ€“ In an effort to equip learners with life-saving emergency response skills, Cauayan City Science and Technology High School, in partnership with the Cauayan City DRRM Office, marked CPR Day 2026 with demonstration CPR training for students on Friday, July 17.

A total of 320 students performed the CPR demonstration, showcasing the learnersโ€™ acquired emergency response skills. The participants were trained by Senior SDRRM Adviser Arnel A. Reyes, who guided the students through proper cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures and emphasized the importance of prompt action during life-threatening emergencies.

During the activity, Assistant Regional Director Florante Vergara commended the school for its commitment to excellence and student development. He expressed admiration for the discipline consistently demonstrated by CauSci learners, noting that the school lives up to its reputation as an institution of excellence not only in academics but also in equipping young people with life-saving skills.

Manny Gulapan Jr. of the Cauayan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) also underscored the importance of disaster prevention and mitigation, emphasizing that DRRM preparedness is not only the mandate of an office but everyoneโ€™s responsibility. He thanked Cauayan City Science and Technology High School for consistently embracing DRRM initiatives and for being a Gawad Kalasag Awardee.

The initiative further highlighted CauSciโ€™s leadership in disaster preparedness, as it became the first school in Region II to conduct a mass CPR demonstration. The school requires all learners and personnel to undergo CPR training to ensure that every member of the community is equipped with basic life-saving skills and prepared to respond during emergencies.

CAUAYAN CITYโ€”Cauayan City Science and Technology High School (CauSci) joined the Schools Division Office of Cauayan City's division-wide tree-planting activity, planting 41 narra seedlings in support of the government's reforestation and climate resilience initiatives on Wednesday, June 15.

The activity was conducted in compliance with Division Memorandum No. 07-013, s. 2026, which directed all public elementary and secondary schools to participate in the 2026 Division Tree-Planting Activity in line with Department Order No. 50, s. 2011 on environmental conservation.

In response to the directive, CauSci mobilized its teaching, non-teaching personnel and learners to plant 41 narra seedlings within the school grounds, contributing to the division's campaign to promote environmental sustainability and strengthen climate change adaptation efforts.

Mary Ann T. Santos, the school principal, thanked all participants and underscored the importance of environmental stewardship. โ€œMy heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in today's tree-planting activity. Together, we have taken a meaningful step toward a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future. May we continue to nurture and protect the trees we planted today, as a lasting symbol of our shared commitment to the environment," she said.

Meanwhile, Khyla R. Cumigad, YES-O president, encouraged everyone to support environmental conservation. I want to encourage everyone to take part in this tree-planting activity with enthusiasm and responsibility. Together, we can prove that small actions, when done collectively, can create a lasting impact on our environment," Cumigad said.

YES-O Adviser Julius M. Raquel likewise emphasized the importance of sustaining environmental efforts."As the YES-O Adviser, I believe that this initiative reflects our shared responsibility in promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable development. May this activity inspire everyone to continue protecting and preserving our natural resources, recognizing that every tree we plant today is a meaningful investment in a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for generations to come," Raquel said.

The activity reaffirmed CauSci's commitment to environmental stewardship by uniting school stakeholders in promoting a greener and more sustainable future.

CAUAYAN CITY โ€” Cauayan City Science and Technology High School (CauSci) reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, integrity, and punctuality as it commenced celebration of National Project WATCH Day, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and school administrators in a meaningful kick-off program at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 19.

The observance was highlighted by a Unity Dance participated in by learners and school personnel waving yellow flaglets, symbolizing unity and support for Project WATCH. The activity was facilitated by Joseph Galabay, bringing energy and cohesion to the celebration.

The observance also marked CauSci's renewed commitment to Project WATCH. As a national winner in the Project WATCH 2025, the school continues to intensify the program's implementation, strengthening initiatives that promote punctuality, honesty, discipline, and responsible use of time among learners and personnel.

During the kick-off, Angelie M. Chavez, the Project WATCH coordinator, shared inspiring words about punctuality and honesty. She also presented the awardees for the Earliest Teacher and Student and the Honesto sa CauSci Award, given to students and personnel who exemplified honesty during the month of June 2026.

Project WATCH President Arnold Dumaguing led the pledge of commitment, reaffirming his dedication to the programโ€™s values. He encouraged the school community to consistently practice punctuality, honesty, and responsibility in their daily activities.

School Principal Mary Ann T. Santos reiterated the importance of punctuality and honesty, emphasizing these as core values that guide the school community in building discipline and integrity among learners and personnel.

CAUAYAN CITY โ€” Reinforcing its commitment to disaster readiness, Cauayan City Science and Technology High School participated in the Second Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), allowing students, teachers, and personnel to practice proper emergency response procedures on Thursday, June 18.

The drill was organized under the supervision of Senior SDRRM Adviser Arnel A. Reyes, who monitored the conduct of the activity and ensured that established safety measures were followed throughout the exercise.

During the simulation, learners and school personnel carried out the standard โ€œDrop, Cover, and Holdโ€ protocol before proceeding calmly to their designated evacuation sites, demonstrating discipline and preparedness in responding to earthquake-related emergencies.

Members of the Junior Rescue Team (JRT) further highlighted the activity by performing rescue and victim-carrying demonstrations, showcasing essential emergency response skills and emphasizing the importance of preparedness during disaster situations.

โ€œAlthough the school still has areas for improvement in terms of disaster preparedness, the earthquake preparedness and response of both teachers and learners remain commendable, reflecting the effectiveness of the school's continuous drills and training,โ€ said DRRM Officer Tom Latonio, EMT-B.

Cauayan City โ€” Senior Scouts from Cauayan City Science and Technology High School participated in the 128th Philippine Independence Day observance organized by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines โ€“ Cauayan City Council at Rizal Park, District I, on June 12.

The activity provided an opportunity for the scouts to commemorate the nation's freedom and honor the sacrifices of Filipino heroes who contributed to the country's independence.

According to Council Scout Executive Garry Galutera, the observance aimed to promote national pride, active citizenship, and a deeper appreciation of Philippine history among the youth.

Through their participation, the scouts demonstrated patriotism, discipline, and civic responsibility while representing the school in the citywide observance.

CAUAYAN CITY- Cauayan City Science and Technology High School (CauSci) officially opened School Year 2026โ€“2027 with 954 students returning to campus carrying renewed optimism as the school implements educational reforms held on Monday, June 8.

Key Educational reforms include the three-term school calendar, strengthened Senior High School (SHS) program, and revised Grades 9โ€“10 curriculum, all aimed at improving learning continuity, developing competencies, and aligning instruction with current educational needs.

Tony S. Ferrer Jr., a senior high school student expressed expectations. โ€œWhile adjustments may be challenging at first, I hope Strengthened SHS program will improve our learning experience and better prepare us for college and future careers. These changes give us hope for a more meaningful and effective education,โ€ he said.

Mary Ann T. Santos, school principal, reiterated the trajectory of educational reforms. โ€œAs education continues to evolve, everyone is encouraged to embrace these reforms as opportunities for growth, innovation, and improved learning outcomes. Together, let us remain committed to building a future-ready and values-driven school community,โ€she said.

Mark Nathaniel M. Calimag, a senior high school teacher reassured Strengthened SHS will positively impact both teaching and learning.โ€ Through my previous training, curriculum in the strengthened program is designed to be more responsive, competency-based, and aligned with current educational needs,โ€ he said.

With this assurance, CauSci Community opened School Year 2026โ€“2027 on a smooth and positive note, marking a strong start anchoredto enhance learning continuity, strengthen competencies, and prepare students for future academic and career paths.
