𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | The most anticipated time of the year for the Social Studies Circle came once again as they convene for the annual Welcome Party 2026, held on 21st of August at Buri Beach, Catbalogan City. More than a simple celebration, the event became a meaningful occasion of fellowship as they give the warmest welcome the freshie members of the organization as they unravel another journey ahead the academic year.

Dressed in their finest beach attire, represented their respective houses through their designated royal colors: Isabella (Blue), Balangiga (Yellow), Sumuroy (Red), and Jesuits (Black). The vibrant display of colors transformed the venue into a symbol of diversity and solidarity each house possessing its own identity, under the defining historical events in Samar Province.

The celebration was filled with excitement through various pageants, games, and team-building activities. Among the highlights were Miss Gay Raraksoti, and Mr. and Ms. Royal House, which gave students an opportunity to showcase their confidence and wit. Meanwhile, activities such as Eat My Banana, Tug of War, Egg Relay, Film Relay, and Paraptayay brought every house to test their teamwork, cooperation and foster unity despite competing to each other.

After a series of a day long chastening battle, the House of Isabella II with 78- points hailed as the overall champion of this year's welcome party ended the historic 4-peat reign of the formidable House of Balanginga (77) with a narrow 1 point margin falling to 1st runner-up, House of Sumuroy (72) comes in 2nd runner-up and lastly House of Jesuits (64) in 3rd runner-up.

Also in attendance are Lord Adviser Prof. Jhonil Bajado who birthed this momentous occasion alongside with Asst. Lord Adviser Dr. Art Roncesvalles, Asst. Lady Adviser Mra Lyme Correche, Ma'am Nemia Carcellar, this year's guest speaker, SSC Faculty members, and Alumnas and Alumnus of the Social Studies Circle.

𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗜𝗜 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 | Royal House of Isabella II emerged victorious in a thrilling Welcome Party 2026 showdown, edging out three other Royal Houses to claim the overall championship with 78 points.

The competition remained tight until the final tally, with Balangiga finishing just one point behind at 77 points, while Sumuroy secured third place with 72 points. Jesuits rounded out the standings with 64 points.

From the opening events to the final competitions, all four Royal Houses gave their best, displayed determination, teamwork, and an unwavering competitive spirit. With every house putting up a strong fight, it was the House of Isabella II that ultimately emerged victorious.

After a thrilling and closely contested battle, the Royal House of Isabella II claims the crown and reigns supreme as the Welcome Party 2026 Overall Champion!

The Social Studies Circle proudly congratulates our very own members, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗼 and 𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗶𝙣̃𝗲𝘇𝗮, for emerging as 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 during the recently held ASEAN Intercollegiate Debate!

With their powerful arguments, their ability to stand firm and defend their positions made them a force to reckon with. Adding to this remarkable achievement, Marlon Baldago was also awarded as the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 of the competition!

𝐓𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 | Noong Agosto 19, 1878, isinilang si Manuel Luis Quezon y Molina sa Baler, Tayabas (ngayon ay Aurora). Siya ang ikalawang Pangulo ng Pilipinas at kauna-unahang Pangulo ng Pamahalaang Komonwelt ng Pilipinas. Bilang kinikilalang “Ama ng Wikang Pambansa,” naging mahalaga ang kanyang papel sa pagtataguyod ng isang wikang magsisilbing sagisag ng pagkakakilanlan at pagkakaisa ng mga Pilipino. Sa paggunita sa kanyang ika-148 na kaarawan ngayong araw, ating alalahanin ang kanyang mga ambag sa kasaysayan at paghubog ng bansang Pilipinas.

Si Quezon ay nagtapos sa kursong Law sa University of Santo Tomas, at kalauna'y pumasa sa Bar Exam noong 1903. Matapos pumasa sa Bar Exam noong 1903 at magsilbi bilang Gobernador ng Tayabas, nahalal siya bilang Resident Commissioner sa Estados Unidos kung saan ipinaglaban niya ang kalayaan ng bansa. Kasunod nito, pinamunuan niya ang Senado ng Pilipinas sa loob ng halos dalawang dekada hanggang sa maihalal siya bilang Pangulo ng Pamahalaang Komonwelt noong 1935.

Sa kanyang pag-upo bilang pangulo, binuo niya ang Surian ng Wikang Pambansa na nagproklama sa Tagalog bilang batayan ng wikang ambansa—na kalauna'y tinawag nating Wikang Filipino—isang makasaysayang hakbang na nagbuklod sa ating pagkakakilanlan.

Nawa'y ang mga pangyayari na ito ay magsilbing daan upang huwag kalimutan ang mga naging kontribusyon ni Quezon sa ating bansa—at magbukas sa ating mga mata't isipan—ganitong mga pangyayari ay nararapat lamang na alalahanin at gunitain.
