A huge congratulations to our former University Student Council (USC) leaders who just got the title of "Registered Civil Engineer"! We know how hard it is to balance council work with those awful tests and plates. Seeing you pass the March 2026 Board Exam is just amazing.
Finally, all those sleepless nights and hard work paid off!
You've always wanted to make your community better, and now you're literally building the future. Your determination and desire to help others continue to inspire us all. This is only the start of a whole new chapter in leadership!
We are very proud of you. Keep going up, keep leading, and keep making a difference.

Samar State University commemorated its 114th Founding Anniversary through the โTakna han Pagtigamanโ, held on March 12 at the SSU Gymnasium, bringing together members of the university community in a celebration of legacy, service, and academic excellence.
The ceremonial program gathered the University Administration, Board of Regents, faculty, staff, alumni, and students, honoring the institutionโs long-standing history and the leaders who helped shape SSU into what it is today. The evening program featured messages of inspiration, recognition of distinguished guests, and cultural performances that reflected the universityโs vibrant community and shared commitment to progress.
A highlight of the celebration was the presentation of the Plaque of Appreciation and the University Medallion to Ms. Gloria T. Mendiola, the oldest retired faculty member of the institution and former English teacher of Samar Trade School (1949), in recognition of her invaluable contribution to the universityโs academic legacy.
The ceremony also honored former university leaders who played significant roles in the development and growth of the institution, acknowledging their dedication and service to the SSU community.
The evening concluded with a Solidarity Dance to the โOne-One-Fourโ jingle, symbolizing unity among administrators, faculty, staff, students, and alumni as they continue to uphold the mission of Samar State University.
As SSU marks over a century of academic heritage, the celebration stands as a reminder of the universityโs enduring commitment to excellence, service, and nation-building for the people of Samar and beyond.
