The activity began with an Overview presentation presented by ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ฒ ๐— ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฎ-๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ, ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ท๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ and ๐——๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—Ÿ๐—Ÿ. She discussed the ๐˜ฑ๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ซ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต ๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฌ, ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฃ๐˜ซ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ด, and the ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ต๐˜ด ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฑ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ด, particularly the importance of community participation and data-driven training development.

This was followed by the Presentation of the System and Try-out Comments Proper, led by ๐— ๐—ฟ. ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—. ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ป, ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐——๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐˜†๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—บ. He introduced the platformโ€™s features, explained its current functions, and demonstrated how the system generates training designs based on validated community data.

Eight experts from Samar State University were invited to critique the system, focusing on its features, functions, process flow, and overall functionality.

During the third day, ๐— ๐—ฟ. ๐—๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ต ๐—”. ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐˜† of ๐——๐—ง๐—œ-๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ discussed ๐˜“๐˜ข๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ด ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜—๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ฌ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ. After the session, participants placed the prepared dishes in food containers and sold them within the barangay as part of a simple community-based selling activity.

On the fourth and final day, ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ฒ ๐— ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฎ-๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ provided a recap of the key lessons from the previous sessions. Participants also evaluated the features of the ๐—”๐—œ ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—น ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, which supports the development of community-based training programs through AI-assisted analysis and design. The activity concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants.

As part of the continuing training cycle, the Center for Lifelong Learning also conducted another data collection activity through interviews to gather feedback and additional information that will be used to guide the next training cycle following the recently concluded program.

Through this initiative, the project continues to demonstrate how AI-assisted learning and community participation can work together to support sustainable livelihood development and lifelong learning in local communities.

These validated priority training themes will serve as the basis for the ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ฒ, where learning materials will be generated and reviewed. The training designs will undergo expert validation before moving to the next phase, which involves prioritizing the top training needs for initial implementation in the community.

The activity ensured that the voices of the participants were central to the planning process, strengthening the relevance and effectiveness of future training programs. The activity was led by Senior Science Research Specialist Atty. Joseph Albert O. Lledo, together with the PSTO technical team, as part of DOSTโ€™s regular monitoring mechanism to assess project progress, compliance, and implementation efficiency.

The PME activity was supported and assisted by the Project Leader, Engr. Mirador Labrador, along with the project team and members of the Balante Agriculture Farmers Association (BAGFA), the projectโ€™s partner organization. During the onsite visit, the PSTO team monitored and evaluated the ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ฟ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ and assessed the status and condition of the ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ ๐—ฒ๐˜…๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ผ๐˜ ๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—บ in Barangay Balante, Basey, Samar, which are key components of the projectโ€™s Year 1 deliverables.

The activity aimed to validate accomplishments, identify implementation gaps, and provide technical recommendations to improve project performance and sustainability. Through onsite assessment and technical discussions, the PME strengthened coordination among DOST-PSTO Samar, SSU Basey Campus, and BAGFA, reaffirming DOSTโ€™s commitment to the effective implementation of science- and technology-based projects that support community development, livelihood generation, and improved access to herbal medicine solutions.
