A virtual talk titled โStartup Mindset in the Digital World, Including A.I.โ was delivered by Dr. Philip Adams, visiting professor at Tra Vinh University, on December 4, 2025, via the Zoom platform. Faculty members and students from Tra Vinh University, Southern Leyte State University, and Samar State University joined the virtual event to explore the fast-changing landscape of digital technology and artificial intelligence. Among the attendees from Samar State University were Dr. Elmer A. Irene (Director for International Affairs), Ariel N. Abarratigue (International Quality Assurance Staff), and Eloisa Baroga (a College of Education student).

| SSU upholds its legacy of excellence on its fourth straight ICONS Award!
Dr. Redentor Palencia received the International Champion of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Award from the Commission on Higher Education during the Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability Awards 2025 ceremony, which was held on December 10, 2025, at the Philippine International Convention Center.
For the fourth consecutive year, Samar State University has been honored with the award.

Samar State Universityโs (SSU) Acting International Student Exchange Program Coordinator, Ariel N. Abarratigue, attended the Information Session for the International Industrial Talents Education Special (INTENSE) Program on December 2 at the Graduate School Function Hall at Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), hosted by Kun Shan University (KSU), Taiwan in collaboration with EVSU.
The program gathered representatives from SSU, Leyte Normal University, University of Eastern Philippines-Catarman, and Southern Leyte State University, along with faculty and students from EVSU. The KSU delegation was composed of Dr. Mike Chu and INTENSE Program Managers Ms. Tina Chang, Ms. Belle Zheng, and Ms. Wing Hsiao, together with representatives from INTACT Base-Manila, Ms. Jonah Ponce and Ms. Joy Fojas.

The Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) once again brought together international relations officers and administrative staff in a meaningful convergence during the ATU-Net International Staff Week 2025, held on September 10โ12, 2025, at Pampanga State University (formerly Don Honorio Ventura State University). With the theme โHarmonizing International Efforts in the Region through Holistic Staff Capacity Building,โ the event gathered around fifty (50) participants from universities across Asia, joined by representatives from the host institution. Samar State University (SSU) was proudly represented by Dr. Elmer A. Irene, Director for International Affairs, and Mr. Mark Brian G. Samar State University (SSU) strengthened its commitment to climate resilient agriculture and sustainable resource management as Dr. Marife Mustacisa-Lacaba, Professor I and Director of the Center for Lifelong Learning (CeLL), represented the University in a benchmarking mission under the ISLA: Livelihood Empowerment through Sustainable Climate Resilient Agri Aqua and Natural Resources Enhancement (ISLA: LEtS CARE) Program. The activity took place from September 2 to 6, 2025 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and affiliated institutions in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Supported through the DOST PCAARRD Foreign Travel Fund, the mission aimed to explore advanced agri aqua technologies, sustainable production systems, and smart farming innovations that can be adapted for small island communities in the Philippines.
