Samar State University (SSU) partnered with DENR-CENRO Catbalogan in conducting the Student Internship Program Exit Conference, participated in by student interns, faculty coordinators, internship supervisors, and partner agency representatives in celebration of the successful completion of the studentsโ On-the-Job Training journey.
The program highlighted the traineesโ accomplishments, experiences, and learnings gained throughout their internship, as they shared reflections and insights from their deployment and industry exposure.
In lieu of the Director of the Student Internship Program, the College of Arts and Sciences Internship Focal Person, ๐ ๐. ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ต ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฒ ๐ฉ. ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ฎ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ, expressed her gratitude to the partner agency for continuously supporting experiential learning opportunities for students.
Also present during the program was the PIC of BS Information Technology, ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐. ๐๐๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฒ, who congratulated the interns for their dedication, hard work, and successful completion of the internship program.

Guided by the principle of โno orientation, no internship,โ the seminar prepared BSCE, BSEE, and BSECE students for the challenges of their upcoming internships. The activity reflected the universityโs commitment to discipline and excellence, requiring students to undergo proper preparation before entering professional practice.

She encouraged students to embrace the opportunity with responsibility and enthusiasm, underscoring the value of leadership in taking initiative and setting an example in the workplace.
The central part of the orientation was the discussion of internship guidelines and expectations by ๐๐ซ. ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฅ๐จ๐ง ๐. ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ข๐จ๐ง, ๐๐ซ., Student Internship (SIP) Director. His talk clarified the responsibilities of interns and the standards they must uphold, instilling discipline and professionalism as essential qualities for success.
This was followed by ๐๐ฌ. ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ขรฑ๐, Director of SAGWAN, who discussed basic GAD concepts in relation to internships and workplace scenarios. Her session provided practical awareness of inclusivity, respect, and sexual harassment prevention, reminding students that true service includes fostering safe and respectful environments for all.
A certificate of appreciation and a token were awarded to Dir. Quiรฑa, in recognition of her invaluable contribution.
Closing remarks were delivered by Engr. Palomas, on behalf of BSCE PIC, expressing gratitude to the organizers, contributors, and attendees. The orientation highlighted the collective effort of faculty and staff in guiding students toward excellence in both academic and professional endeavors.
The orientation concluded with photo opportunities, capturing the excitement and unity of the engineering community.

The College of Industrial Technology โ Culinary Technology Program successfully conducted its International Internship Orientation in partnership with RCC Staffing Solution USA Corporation on April 20, 2026, at the CAS Audio Visual Center.
This significant activity marked an important step in preparing our students for global opportunities, equipping them with essential knowledge, expectations, and inspiration as they embark on their international internship journey.
