On June 5, 1996, through Board of Regents Resolution No. 42, Series of 1996, the former College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) was formally bifurcated, establishing the College of Arts and Communication (CAC) as a distinct academic unit dedicated to the advancement of the arts, communication, language, literature, and social sciences.

Over the past three decades, CAC has grown into a vibrant academic community committed to excellence in instruction, research, extension, production, and student development. Through its diverse disciplines and programs, the College has nurtured generations of graduates who have made meaningful contributions in education, government, media, public service, culture, and various professional fields.

CAC at 30: Three Decades of Nurturing Creativity and Excellence, Shaping Futures and Transforming Communities.

Thirty years ago, the foundation was laid not just with concrete, but with an audacious belief: that words could shift perspectives, that art could spark change, and that truth would always find a way to conquer.

In the quiet corners of the campus, what began as a modest ambition has grown into a living, breathing legacy. To walk through the halls of the College of Arts and Communication today is to walk through a tapestry woven by generations of educators and dreamers. The seasoned faculty members remember the early days: the scarcity of equipment, the shared notes, and the fierce, undeniable energy of students who wanted to make their mark on the world. They watched as tentative freshmen, unsure of their own voices, evolved into the sharp journalists, visionary artists, and dedicated community leaders now transforming the landscape of the region.

The commemorative graphic below serves as a poignant visual anchor for this milestone. Bathed in deep blue and gold, it carries the weight of a profound history: CAC at 30: Three Decades of Nurturing Creativity and Excellence, Shaping Futures and Transforming Communities.

At the heart of the design rests the timeless institutional anchor: Omnia. Veritas. Vincit.—Truth Conquers All. It is a philosophy that hasn't merely been displayed on walls or printed on syllabi; it has been lived out in every lecture delivered, every late-night production completed, and every community extension program realized over the last thirty years.

This pearl anniversary is less about the passage of time and more about the lives touched. It stands as a tribute to the mentors who poured their wisdom into empty notebooks, the students who dared to challenge the status quo, and the alumni who continue to carry the fire of the college into the global arena.
