UEPians, this is your moment to shine! ✨ Show off your wits and scientific knowledge as the College of Education – Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science Discipline officially opens its Science Month Celebration with the much-awaited Science Quiz Bee 2025 happening on September 11, 2025 (Thursday) at 1:00 PM at CoEd, Ed-6 (Science Room), 2nd Floor.
Prepare to experience a thrilling competition that will test your speed, accuracy, and mastery of science as you battle it out for the title of Ultimate Science Whiz! 🧠⚡
To register, walk-in participants are welcome. Just directly proceed to Ed-6 and fill out the registration form for interested participants.
📍 What: Science Quiz Bee
📅 When: September 11, 2025 (Thursday), 1:00 PM
🏫 Where: CoEd, Ed-6 (Science Room), 2nd Floor
👥 Who Can Join?
- Open to all bona fide undergraduate students of UEP Main Campus EXCEPT students from the host discipline
- Individual competition (no teams)
- All participants compete from start to finish
- Contestants must use assigned quiz number for recognition
💡 Mechanics
- The quiz will cover Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Astronomy.
- The quiz will be divided into three categories, namely:
a) Easy
- (will be 15 items and each item will be equivalent to 1 point and the participants will be given 5 seconds to answer),
b) Average
- (will be 10 items for 3 points each where the participants will be allotted 10 seconds to answer)
c) Difficult
(will be 5 items and is 3 points each where the participants will be given 1 minute to answer)
- In Easy and Average rounds, multiple choice type of test will be given while in the difficult round, the questions are in an identification or solving format.
- After the Easy and Average rounds, the participants who earned the top 5 scores will ascend to the difficult round and the rest will be eliminated.
- In case of a tie, questions will be asked until it is broken.
- Participants will be using yellow pad as their answer sheets and a blue ballpen to write their answers.
- Gadgets, notes, or any reference materials will be prohibited during the competition. Notes and periodic table will not be allowed as well. Scientific calculators will be permitted for problem-solving questions but it shall be checked by the committee before the contest. The violators will be disqualified.
- Shouting, signaling, or cheating will lead to disqualification.
- The committee will be composed of the chairman, quiz master, three checkers, and two staffs (score recorder and time keeper).
- A quick orientation will be held before the contest begin. Clarifications regarding the rules of the competition will only be entertained by the committee before the start of the contest.
- Each question will be read twice. After the second reading, the quiz master will say “GO,” which will signal the participants to start writing their answers on their papers. The countdown timer will begin simultaneously.
- After the limit or the buzzer sounds, all participants must raise their ballpens and show their answers and the correct answer will be flashed on the screen.
- Any questions or clarification regarding the proceeding question will be entertained by the facilitator before proceeding to the next questions.
- All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation

We, the BSEd- Science Discipline offers our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Roy Balicudcud, whose presence brought smile, wisdom, and genuine love to everyone around him. Roy had a rare gift for making people feel seen and valued—whether through his quiet support, his uplifting words, or the way he always showed up when it mattered most. He inspired many through his compassion, integrity, and the way he lived with purpose and humility.
