Bote Integrated School Senior High School students actively participated in the Mental Health Forum today, March 17, 2026 at Bote IS ICT Room spearheaded by Bato Rural Health Unit with the theme, "Together for Mental Wellness: Strong Minds in the School and Community."

The students gained valuable insights from the resource speaker, Dr. Rucelle C. Zuniega, Adult and Child Psychologist in the island. Dr. Zuniega discussed the mental health continuum, the common mental health challenges among the youths, and the signs to watch out for when someone might need help because of suicidal ideations.

During the group activity, the students were encouraged to share the common mental health challenges or stressors that they are experiencing and the ways on how they are dealing with them which made them realized that they are not alone in their struggles.

Before the session ended, Nurse Maricar Torzar-Tribiana also added some helpful coping strategies to address the mental health challenges encountered by them.

Bote IS would like to thank Bato Rural Health Unit Team headed by Doc Rhea Lovela V. Toledana, Municipal Health Officer, for choosing the school in their mental health awareness campaign. Marami pong salamat! Kudos po sa inyo! 😊

In collaboration with the Municipal Civil Registrar Office and the Barangay Council of Bote, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Catanduanes successfully launched the 36th National Statistics Month today, October 7, 2025 at Bote Integrated School with the theme, "Accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All."

The National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration is a nationwide event held annually in the Philippines every October, as declared by Presidential Proclamation No. 647. The NSM aims to raise public awareness about the importance of statistics and encourage public support for improving the quality and standards of statistics in the country.

The launching of the month-long celebration started at 1:00 PM with a motorcade going to Barangay Bote and ended at the chosen venue. It was then followed by a short program which was graced by the presence of Ma'am Belen T. Tapas, Public Schools District Supervisor - Bato East and West, Hon. Rey T. Torrazo, Barangay Captain of Bote and speakers from PSA Virac, Engr. Anavi Camacho, Chief Statistical Specialist and Ms. Cecil T. Castilla, Registration Officer II respectively. Ma'am Katherene B. Vergara, Municipal Civil Registrar of Bato, gave the closing message and word of thanks.

The second part of the celebration was the simultaneous contests: Quiz Bee, given by the PSA staff, and Slogan and Poster Making, sponsored by the MCR Staff. The contests were actively participated by the Senior High School students in the school. The event was also joined by the Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Officials of Bote.

Closing and awarding of prizes to the winners of the different contests then followed. Token of appreciation was also given to the guests and the host school.

A day full of fun and learning!

The two-day activity of Bote IS SHS Days ended with full of fun and learning with a team building activity/amazing race held at Sacahon Beach. The students used their minds and bodies to play the games and competed to finish the tasks ahead of time with the other groups.

Closing and awarding immediately followed where the students were given prizes and certificates as recognition for their performance throughout the event.

Bote IS SHS students showcase their knowledge, talents and skills in the "Patiribayan" quiz bee, debate and skills competition during the second day of the Senior High School Days.

It was indeed a great opportunity to test their knowledge and critical thinking, foster their communication skills, and display their abilities in cooking and table setting.
