In collaboration with the Municipal Civil Registrar Office and the Barangay Council of Bote, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Catanduanes successfully launched the 36th National Statistics Month today, October 7, 2025 at Bote Integrated School with the theme, "Accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All."
The National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration is a nationwide event held annually in the Philippines every October, as declared by Presidential Proclamation No. 647. The NSM aims to raise public awareness about the importance of statistics and encourage public support for improving the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
The launching of the month-long celebration started at 1:00 PM with a motorcade going to Barangay Bote and ended at the chosen venue. It was then followed by a short program which was graced by the presence of Ma'am Belen T. Tapas, Public Schools District Supervisor - Bato East and West, Hon. Rey T. Torrazo, Barangay Captain of Bote and speakers from PSA Virac, Engr. Anavi Camacho, Chief Statistical Specialist and Ms. Cecil T. Castilla, Registration Officer II respectively. Ma'am Katherene B. Vergara, Municipal Civil Registrar of Bato, gave the closing message and word of thanks.
The second part of the celebration was the simultaneous contests: Quiz Bee, given by the PSA staff, and Slogan and Poster Making, sponsored by the MCR Staff. The contests were actively participated by the Senior High School students in the school. The event was also joined by the Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Officials of Bote.
Closing and awarding of prizes to the winners of the different contests then followed. Token of appreciation was also given to the guests and the host school.
