EXTENSION TRAINING ON PRACTICAL DRIVING COURSE – DAY 5

Another meaningful day of learning and skills development! 💚

The Extension Training on Practical Driving Course continued with a combination of practical driving skills and financial literacy helping participants become not only responsible and safety-conscious drivers but also more informed and responsible decision-makers.

Our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Rica San Antonio, Resource Speaker for sharing valuable lessons on financial literacy, budgeting, saving and responsible money management. These insights are especially relevant in helping participants manage their resources wisely and support their personal, family, and livelihood needs.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated driving trainers—Prof. Rene Magbanua, Prof. Dhareen Laguing and Dr. Larimar Araw-Araw—for their expertise, patience, and continued guidance in developing the participants’ driving knowledge and practical skills.

Through the integration of driving skills and financial literacy the training continues to promote responsibility, safety, confidence, and livelihood empowerment.

TRAINING ON BANANA PITH SIOMAI MAKING

The Technical Teacher Education Department (TTED) in coordination with the Community Extension Services Office successfully conducted the Training on Banana Pith Siomai Making on October 1–2, 2026 at Barangay Mianay, Sigma, Capiz. The activity integrated essential topics on mental health, financial literacy, product marketing and product costing to promote holistic well-being, entrepreneurial skills and sustainable livelihood opportunities in the community. The activity was led by Dr. Meldred Lagon, Project Leader/Trainer with the valuable insights and expertise of our resource speakers: Ms. Irrah Faith Celino, Dr. Rica San Antonio, Prof. Aiza Lizada and Prof. Dhareen Laguing.

We sincerely appreciate the presence and continued support of Dr. Eimee D. Potato, Satellite College Director; Dr. Yhanie A. Lantoria,Community Extension Chairperson and Dr. Fortunato A. Azarcon, TTED Program Chairperson.

Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to the partner agency, Barangay Mianay, Sigma, Capiz headed by Barangay Chairperson Hon. Delirosa Arroyo for their cooperation and continued support in making this extension initiative meaningful and successful.

Special thanks to our dedicated facilitators, Dr. Jenny Perez, Prof. Joe An Villareal, Prof. Elena Ocado, Mr. Mark Andrew Delino and our two TTED student volunteers for their valuable contributions throughout the activity.

Day 4 | Community Extension Training – Practical Driving Course 🚘Another productive day of learning and skills development!
Participants gained valuable insights on Gender-Sensitive Protection and Safe Communities, discussed by our resource speaker, Dr. Bryan Deither Luza, GAD Focal Person of CAPSU Sigma.

The session was followed by continued practical driving training facilitated by Prof. Rene L. Magbanua, Dr. Anthony Anoche and Prof. Dhareen Laguing.

The Community Extension Services Office (CESO) – Sigma Satellite College participated in the 3-Day Training on Building Communities through Community-Based Needs Assessment, held on September 22–24, 2026 at Aura Condotel, Roxas City, Capiz. The training was attended by Dr. Yhanie A. Lantoria, Dr. Annabelle Nobleta, Dr. Mark Anson Unarce, Dr. Linelyn G. Esteban, and Dr. Jenny Perez, strengthening their knowledge and skills in conducting community-based needs assessments for responsive extension programs.

On the second day, the participants applied their learning through an actual community needs assessment in Barangay Basiao, Ivisan, Capiz, a potential development partner of the University. The team engaged in a meaningful dialogue with Barangay Chairman Hon. Rolando U. Unasin and community residents gathering valuable information on their livelihood, needs, skills, strengths and opportunities. On the third day, Dr. Yhanie A. Lantoria, CESO Chairperson, presented the team’s output based on the data gathered.

The CESO Sigma Satellite College team extends its appreciation to Dr. Jhoanna G. Guarin of Aklan State University, Resource Speaker and Prof. Jocelyn S. Legaspi, CESO Director for their guidance and support. 🚗 Day 3 of the Practical Driving Training

Day 3 continued with hands-on driving training under our dedicated trainers, Prof. Rene Magbanua, Prof. Dhareen Laguing, and Dr. Anthony Anoche.

The day also included a meaningful Mental Health Awareness Session facilitated by Ms. Irrah Faith Celino, Guidance Counselor, helping our trainees understand the importance of managing emotions and stress while driving. 💚

Thank you, Ms. Irrah, for sharing your time and valuable insights with our trainees.

The Technical Teacher Education Department (TTED) through its U-TEST Program in coordination with the Office of Community Extension Services of CAPSU Sigma Satellite College officially commenced the 10-Day Practical Driving Training on September 5, 2026.

The opening day featured a brief program, lecture session and MOA signing marking the partnership and shared commitment to providing meaningful skills training to the community. The training will be conducted every Saturday until November 7, 2026 with 20 participants primarily OFW family members in partnership with the Capiz Rural Peasant and OFW Farmers Credit Cooperative (CRPOFWFCC). 🤝 This initiative aims to equip participants with practical driving knowledge and skills, promote road safety and create opportunities for personal development and livelihood.

The training is spearheaded by Prof. Rene Magbanua, Proponent/Trainer together with Dr. Anthony Anoche, Dr. Larry Mar Araw-Araw, and Prof. Dhareen Laguing. All trainers are NC II holders in Driving, bringing their knowledge, expertise and hands-on experience to the participants.

The Community Extension Services Office (CESO) extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Eimee Potato, Satellite College Director; Dr. Ginalyn J.
