Learning is more meaningful when children enjoy the process!

Caleb had so much fun answering “Who am I?” questions and making inferences during his session. Through this activity, he practiced listening for clues, thinking critically, making connections, and expressing his answers.

It’s amazing how a simple guessing game can support important skills like comprehension, reasoning, vocabulary, and communication.

We’re proud of Caleb for participating actively and confidently sharing his ideas!

Welcome to the Functional Futures Family, Teacher Nisa!

We are delighted to welcome Teacher Nisa to the growing team of Functional Futures Training and Development Services!

A proud graduate of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) – Guihulngan, with a degree in Information Technology, Teacher Nisa brings her technical skills, organization, and dedication to our administrative team.

As part of our Administrative and Finance Support Team, she will assist the management in handling office operations, financial records, and administrative matters for our Canlaon Branch. She will also help ensure that our teachers have the support and resources they need to provide meaningful, organized, and quality services to our learners.

While her role may be behind the scenes, her contribution is an important part of our mission. Through her work, she helps create a well-organized and supportive environment where our teachers can focus on what matters most—helping every child learn, grow, and reach their fullest potential.

Ready, Set, Go! Small Wheels, Big Learning

Sometimes, the simplest activities create the biggest learning opportunities. During her session, Kendra participated in a car-themed "Ready, Set, Go!" activity, where she practiced listening, waiting, following simple directions, and staying engaged as she moved the toy car on cue.

This playful activity also encouraged her to develop attention, self-control, and participation while enjoying a structured and motivating learning experience. Through consistent practice, children build these foundational skills one step at a time.

Life skills start with small, meaningful tasks.

Gavin practiced important life skills by folding his shirt and pants, sweeping the floor, and wiping the table. These everyday activities help build independence, responsibility, and confidence—skills that support success at home, in school, and in the community.

Every word is a milestone worth celebrating.

Communication grows one step at a time—from words, to phrases, to simple sentences. When Prince first started at Functional Futures, he mostly used single words in everyday communication. Through play-based learning and a gradual transition to more structured sessions, he's now beginning to use phrases and simple sentences.

After introducing a choice board, Prince has been doing a great job practicing, "I want..." and proudly saying, "I want (color)"

Every small step builds confidence, and we're excited to celebrate his progress.

One small step can lead to big progress.

Reading doesn't happen overnight—it starts with mastering letter sounds, blending them together, and practicing consistently. Today, I'm so proud to share that Khallix can now read CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words with confidence after working hard on phonics and sound blending.

Every child learns at their own pace, and celebrating these milestones reminds us that growth comes from patience, encouragement, and the right support. It's not just about reading words—it's about building confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
