With career preparation at the forefront, aiming to transform career aspirations into workplace readiness, CBSUA-Sipocot convened third-year Industrial Technology students and all fourth-year students for a two-day Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar on June 3โ4 at the Cultural Hall, reinforcing the competencies, work ethics, and professional confidence needed in today's workforce under the theme, "Enhancing Competence, Building Confidence, and Achieving Career Readiness."
The first day program formally began with an opening remarks welcoming the participants delivered by Prof. Charmayn N. Nate, OSAS Campus Coordinator.
Shortly after, Melanie S. San Antonio, faculty, College of Technology, led the session on communication for employment. She discussed the fundamentals of effective rรฉsumรฉ writing, proper application letter formatting, and essential interview preparation.
The orientation continued with Dr. Jerome H. Baldemoro, Dean, College of Industrial Technology at Camarines Norte State College, who tackled Personality Development and Professionalism, where he stressed the standards of professionalism students must uphold, shared techniques on how to answer interview questions effectively.
Subsequently, Kim Alfonso Raynes, MLL, instructor, Camarines Norte State College, discussed Personal Groomingโcovering related topics such as professional branding, power dressing, poise, and proper etiquette. His presentation concluded the morning session, followed by the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation to the speakers.
The afternoon session commenced with Archie A. Perpetua, CAB Coordinator, who discussed Job Search Strategies. Then, Rosemary O. Baldoza, RSW, PESO Manager of LGU-Sipocot, discussed the Pre-Employment Orientation, covering the career development support program and career exploration opportunities designed for college students. It was followed by Claribel L. Rebueno, Branch Manager of the Social Security System (SSS) โ Naga City Branch. His session centered on SSS membership, benefits, and employee entitlements. Afterwards, the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation was then takes placed.
The first day program officially concluded as Assistant Prof. Ian L. Sagario, Industrial Linkages and Development Office (ILDO) Coordinator, delivered his closing remarks.
The second day continued with discussions from professionals representing various industries and career fields. Victor Emmanuel N. Aguilar Jr., Director for Talent Attraction of The Global People Office at Sutherland, delivered a Career Talk on the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, providing students with insights into career opportunities and industry demands.
Atty. Maryrose Angieley M. Peรฑaflor, PhD, Public School District Supervisor of the San Fernando District, discussed Current Hiring Trends in the Department of Education, informing participants about employment opportunities and qualifications in the education sector.
The morning session concluded with PLT Christopher G. Daracan, Administrative Police Commissioned Officer of the 9th Special Action Battalion (SAB), who conducted a Career Orientation on opportunities within the Special Action Force (SAF). He shared information on career paths, qualifications, and the responsibilities of SAF personnel.
Prof. Rhea B. Abergos, Guidance Counselor, delivered the closing remarks for the morning program.
The afternoon session featured Ms. Eunice G. Zuela, Instructor, BSES Program, who discussed Sustainability and Climate Action, emphasizing environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. She was followed by Joebert G. Barnedo, Instructor of the BSAF Program, who shared his expertise on Technical Field Skills and Practical Application, highlighting the importance of hands-on competencies in various professional settings.
Formally closing the two-day seminar, Prof. Rhea B. Abergos delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to the speakers and participants for their active involvement throughout the event.
The seminar successfully equipped participants with essential knowledge, practical skills, and career insights, empowering them to make informed decisions and confidently prepare for the challenges and opportunities of the professional world.
