In our local tongue, Pagrambong means to flourish, to thrive, and to grow abundantlyโ€”much like a tree deeply rooted in good soil, reaching outward. It is the absolute perfect word for this exact moment in our history.

Just as our beloved Camarines Norte State College has flourished, expanded, and leveled up into the ๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ฒ (๐—จ๐—–๐—ก), our Bio-Isko and Bio-Iska ng 4A has grown right alongside it.

Today, we proudly stand fully realized, celebrating our collective growth as the very first batch of Biology achievers to graduate and be recognized under the Pamantasan ng Camarines Norte!

Today, the BioIsko and BioIska ng 4A stood united on stage during the 34th College of Arts and Sciences Recognition Rites 2026, proudly holding the fruits of our labor. Our block shared the spotlight, honored for our breakthroughs, relentless commitment, and excellence across both academic and non-academic fields.

This year's theme, "PAGRAMBร“NG: Shaping CAS Achievers as Compassionate Leaders and Lifelong Learners for Digital Age," perfectly captures the spirit of our cohort.

Pagrambongโ€”the beautiful local essence of profound growth, flourishing, and branching outwardโ€”is exactly what we have embodied.

Central to this theme was the powerful reminder from our guest speaker, Sir John William F. Villarin, MD, a proud CNSC Biology alumnus. He emphasized that above all our academic milestones, character is more important than allโ€”beautifully reminding us that while yes, intelligence is our tool, but character is our compass.

Over the years, our block hasn't just grown as skilled laboratory researchers; guided by this compass, we have grown into compassionate, lifelong learners ready to bring our science directly to the people with absolute integrity.

This recognition is exceptionally historic. As we celebrate our collective achievements, we also proudly congratulate our beloved alma mater on its monumental conversion into the University of Camarines Norte (UCN).

To stand on that stage today and be recognized as the very first batch of achievers to receive these awards under the Pamantasan ng Camarines Norte is an unparalleled honor.

The true essence of "Pagrambong" is reflected in this very milestone: as our institution has flourished into a full-fledged university, we, too, have flourished into its pioneering graduates.

Mabuhay ang Pamantasan ng Camarines Norte! Mabuhay ang mga Iskolar ng Bayan! Tunay ngang Haynayan Para Sa Bayan!

๐—๐—จ๐—ฆ๐—ง ๐—œ๐—ก | Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) is now officially acknowledged as the University of Camarines Norte (UCN).

Through the recommendation of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office (CHEDRO) V and Office of the Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (OIQAG), the Commission En Banc granted the institution university status through Resolution No. 306-2026 after confirming that it had fulfilled all requirements under Republic Act No. 11399.

The recognition was formally announced today, June 15, during this morningโ€™s flag-raising ceremony.

From the laboratory benches and the muddy mangrove trailsโ€”straight to the forefront of local science!

Here's a visual glimpse into exactly what weโ€™ve been working on for the past year.

Now that the late nights in the lab, the exhausting fieldwork, and the endless manuscript revisions are finally behind us, the BioIsko and BioIska ng 4A are pledged and incredibly proud to showcase our hardbound realities to the outside world.

We didn't just conduct these studies to fulfill an academic requirement; we pursued biology to make a tangible, evidence-based difference in our community.

So, what exactly is inside?

If you swipe through, youโ€™ll see that our cohort tackled a diverse range of real-world ecological and public health challenges. We explored the safety and hidden toxicities of beloved herbal remedies like Paragis and Tawa-tawa.

We tested the cancer-fighting, anti-angiogenic potential of everyday agricultural waste like papaya and pineapple peels. We trekked through the Catandunganon estuaries to map insect biodiversity and assess how water quality dictates mangrove survival.

And we went directly into our local barangays to assess the public health burden of parasitic worm infections among our children.

This collection represents our collective commitment to advancing the sciences in Camarines Norte.

Take a swipe through the photos below to explore the culmination of our undergraduate research journey. We are ready to translate our hard work into real-world impact.

The science is just getting started!

Like a perfectly balanced ecosystem, BSBIO 4A just works.

Presenting the batch picture of the BioIskos and BioIskas of BSBIO 4A!

Here we didnโ€™t just study life; we experienced the highs, the lows, and the breakthroughs together.

From surviving our first year to finally conquering our undergraduate theses, here are your resilient, heavily-caffeinated๐Ÿคฃ, but always brilliant BioIskos and BioIskas ng 4A!

First of all, kamustahin muna natin si Sen. Pia!

And now that we have checked up on her, let's move on to the Bioisko and Bioiska ng 4A and what happened with them today!

Today, Friday, marks a truly bittersweet milestone as we finally wrapped up our class pictorial. Beyond the camera and the excitement of dressing up, this day actually carries a much heavier weight for all of us, because it officially marks the end of our second semester and our very last semester as fourth-year BS Biology students.

Looking back at everything we have been through over the past four years, it feels incredibly surreal to realize how far we have come. From memorizing complex scientific names and surviving nerve-wracking practical exams, to those endless caffeine-fueled thesis defense preparations, we really went through it all together. The academic pressure was intense, but the solid bond we forged through every shared breakdown and breakthrough is something we will genuinely keep and treasure for a lifetime.

As we slowly step into this season of goodbyes, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to our brilliant instructors and professors. Thank you for your unwavering patience, your expert guidance, and for constantly pushing us beyond our limits to become the capable scientists we are today.

To our fellow Bioisko and Bioiska, good luck with the future and keep chasing those big dreams relentlessly! We all know that, like any other rigorous program, being a Biology student is no walk in the park. It was exhausting, demanding, and tested us in ways we never expected, but the most important thing is that we did not give up. We embraced the struggle, pushed through the exhaustion, and survived to see it through to the end.

Graduation is just around the corner now, and before we officially step out of the university halls to go our separate ways, letโ€™s make the absolute most out of the time we still have left together. We made it, 4Aโ€”see you at the finish line!
