Happening now: Trainees of STEP Tile Setting NC II Batch 1 was conducting a process called sand sieving/sifting. This process is done to reduce the pebbles/larger size gravel into a more refine particles that can be later use in the mixture of mortar paste.

Look: The students of Tile Setting NC II STEP 2023 – Batch 1 performs the basic cutting of Ceramic Tiles, as part of their Competency-Based Training required by the TESDA Training Regulation.

The said trainees are required to cut, polish and bevel the ceramic tiles using appropriate tools and equipment such as electric angle grinder and the manual tile cutter, as shown on the photos below. The activity aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of the trainees prior to correct utilizations/handling of the said tools and equipment. During the activity, trainees are accompanied by their trainer to teach them properly and ensure the safety of each individual as well.
In addition to this, the training is a gender inclusive activity, both genders can participate equally among other trainees during the training.
