𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗬 | 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲

As the short days of the year are slowly slipping away, the arrival of a new chapter brings a sense of fresh beginnings. Around this time, people tend to reflect on the moments, lessons, and challenges that shaped them into who they are today. Recognizing personal growth—whether big or small—helps people understand their next step.

The New Year is beautifully connected to hope and possibilities. The resolve to improve a skill or habit, to set new goals or resolutions, or to strengthen relationships. While some of these may not last, the intention behind them can be motivating. An optimistic mindset that reminds us that change is always a possibility.

One unique aspect of the New Year is the unity of people across the world, which brings them closer together in celebration. As the New Year begins, it welcomes everyone with a chance to change, be kinder, more curious, and become a new version of themselves. No matter what happened in the past year, a new year is always ahead, ready to reshape your dreams, goals, and ideas.

𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐧𝐢 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥

Ngayong araw, Disyembre 30, 2025, ay ginugunita ang ika-129 anibersaryo ng pagpanaw ni Dr. Jose Rizal, ang pambansang bayani ng Pilipinas. Hindi lamang siya isang bayani na ating nababasa sa mga aklat; siya rin ay isang manunulat, doktor, at repormista na lumaban sa pang-aabuso ng mga Espanyol gamit ang panulat at talino, hindi armas.

Hanggang ngayon, si Rizal ay patuloy na nagsisilbing tagapagmulat at inspirasyon sa mga Pilipino, lalo na sa mga kabataang manunulat. Isa siyang paalala na gamitin ang panulat bilang boses ng katotohanan—patuloy na magsulat upang magmulat at maghatid ng impormasyong makatutulong sa ating bansa. Ipinapakita ng kanyang buhay at mga akda na ang bawat salitang sinusulat ay may kapangyarihang maghubog ng isip at kilos ng mambabasa.

Kaya naman, tulad ng ating bayani, nararapat na ang bawat manunulat ay may tapang at integridad na magsiwalat ng katotohanan at maglingkod sa bayan.

For some—Christmas is a season flooded by pain;

Yet even in that pain, the season offers a glass of hope—
A hope that peace will always be just within reach.

For some—it is a season burdened by the weight of bills,
By crowded stores and gifts they can barely afford;
Their hands grasping on ribbons, wrapping papers, and tags—
Because someone else is grasping on their greed.

And for some—it’s a season worth waiting for a year;
A season that's free from worries about papers and pens,
A season bounded by the comfort of knowing everyone’s close enough to reach,
And a season—where there will always be a space at the table.

Even those flooded by sorrow find a faint glimmer of light,
A reminder that even just for a day—
The world can feel softer, kinder, and happier—
Because Christmas helps us believe again.

Believe that years will always end in a good way somehow,
And to the hope that even in our hardest times,
There is a season for healing, for remembering, and for hope—
Because Christmas finds ways to keep itself back in.

𝗣𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗞𝗔𝗡 | 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗼

Sa paningin ng isang paslit, sa tuwing ang Pasko ay sasapit,
Ay ligaya ng magulang na hindi ipagpapalit.
Ang mga labi’y lasap ang tamis—malayo sa pait.
Ang mga yakap na mahigpit ay maihahalintulad sa batirol na mainit.

Ngunit ang batang paslit ay lumaki at nakalaya sa pagkakapiit,
Sa paningin sa mundong akala’y kay liit.
Ang dating ligaya ay napalitan ng mga ngiting pilit.
Bago man ang damit, marami mang bitbit,
Ngunit ang ligaya noon ay walang kapalit.

Napagtantong sa paglaki ay reyalidad na hindi pare-pareho:
Ang iba’y may nais mahagkang nasa ilalim na ng mga damo.
May magpapaskong puno ng regalo,
Ngunit pamilya’y nasa kabilang panig ng mundo.

Sa paglaki ng paslit, naranasang makikain sa hapag ng buhay
Na puno ng hamon,
Kung saan ang hamón ay mataas na ambisyon;
Ang limang daan ay babatakin ng kasakiman at korapsyon.

Ngunit bakit hindi nga naman, kung sanay na ang tao sa kalderong walang laman?
Pero ang punto ay ganoon na ba kaliit
Ang tingin sa taong sanay sa kalam,
O wala lang talagang alam?

Ang Pasko sa isipan ng lahat ay tunay na malamig.
Ngunit sa paglaki ng paslit,
Dala nito ay hindi na lang basta nginig.
Sa puso ay ang pakiramdam ng paglaganap ng tumitigas na likido.
Ngayong malaki na ang paslit, tanong nito’y:
“Ito na ba ang pakiramdam ng Pasko?”

Ngunit kahit ano pa man ang itsura at pakiramdam ng Pasko,
Ito ay kailanma’y hindi magbabago.
Sa paligid ay mayroon pa ring mga paslit na lumalapit:
May tambol, lubos ang ngiti, at umaawit.
Mga parol at ilaw ay patuloy pa ring isasabit.

Ito pa rin ang Pasko maging buhat noon pa’y paslit.
Ang pag-ibig ay mananatiling nasa himpapawid.
Kahit gaano man ito kainit o kalamig,
Dahil ito ay kaloob ng langit.
