Typhoon Kristine has caused a lot of damage in Calbayog City and other parts of the Philippines. The strong winds and heavy rains have destroyed homes and businesses, leaving many without shelter and belongings.
The aftermath of this natural disaster is a stark reminder of the immense power of nature and its capacity to inflict suffering. As we witness the ruins of what was once a thriving community, a sense of despair and helplessness settles upon us. We yearn for a miracle, a chance to rewind time and undo the damage. But reality sets in, and we are confronted with the harsh truth: much has been lost. The hope of recovering lost possessions and rebuilding shattered lives seems distant, yet it is precisely in these darkest hours that the human spirit shines brightest.
Thus, we encourage everyone to extend a helping hand and offer your support to those who have been so affected by this tragedy. Their journey to recovery is difficult, and their ability to rebuild their lives depends on the collective efforts of a caring community. By joining hands, we can offer solace, aid, and hope to those who have been affected by such calamity.
The Supreme Students Learners Government of Oquendo National High School is asking for donations to support and help those who have been affected by Typhoon Kristine.
You can lend your donations whether through GCash or in-kind donations like food, clothes, medicine, water, first aid kit and blankets. Drop off your donations at the ONHS SSLG office. For more inquiries, message us.
Your generosity can make a significant difference in their journey towards recovery.

With that, we are inquiring for teachers per grade level with amazing and entertaining talent could it be singing, dancing, acting, or any other hidden talents. Teachers can perform solo and also by group depending on the likings of the teachers.
The allotted time for each performance should not be lesser than 5 minutes but shouldn't exceed more than 10 minutes. For more details, you can approach the SSLG representatives by grade level and also for the listing of the interested teachers.

"Don't memorize, just familiarize"
Pag-abot sa exam, "hala familiar!"🤯
What's up, Onhsians!
Tomorrow is the 1st Quarter Examination!
Nag review na ba kam? or nag para tiktok la? As the days of the exam is getting closer, the pressure and preparation is also getting higher and higher. We all strive to get the highest possible mark so that the efforts we laid with our study will be paid off.
We, the Supreme Students Learners Government wishes you all the best for the upcoming 1st quarter examination. May all the hours spent studying, the countless tears that we shed, and the constant courage we exerted in preparation for the exam may be rewarded with good or even perfect scores. However, if the results are far from what we expected, bare in mind that you had done your best. Besides, scores are just numbers and so are grades. And those numbers are not a reflection of you but a steeping stone to a more resilient seatback.
Good luck and God bless!🫶

Hail to the new set of officers!
Today, September 17, 2024, the Supreme Students Learners Government held the most-awaited school club together with the Youth for the Environment School Organization and Barkada Kontra Droga. Headed by the organization presidents, namely Stephanie Kaye Teonilo, SSLG President, Darwin Delos Santos, BKD President, and Daphne Jane Jomoc, YES-O Vice President, on behalf of their organization president.
At exactly 3:45, students went to their clubs of interest and enter the designated rooms for each club. Every classroom was filled with excitement and joy as students chose their leaders who satisfied their standards and leaders who met their expectations. Each club was handled by the club's coordinator and assisted by the SSLG, BKD, and YES-O officers.
From the position of the president down to the grade 12 representative, the students did their best in choosing the right leaders. They finally were able to vote for the righteous one who will lead and guide them.
After an exhausting time handling each club comes the satisfaction of letting the students engage in such activity. The school club not only let students vote for their preferred leaders, but emphasizes the significant importance of each club to the development of the school and the whole studentry.
Thank you for the active participation, ONHSians, and congratulations to the new set of officers for the school year 2024-2025. May you be embodied with great inspiration to fulfill your duties and responsibilities!

Congratulations, Hadang Dancers! You did a really great performance, we're so proud of you!❤️
NEWS ǀ ONHS Hadang dancers wow viewers; ‘Panarit’ ritual given justice
CALBAYOG CITY SPORTS CENTER—Oquendo National High School (ONHS) Hadang dancers delivered an unforgettable performance in the recently concluded Hadang Ritual Competition 2024 on Friday, September 6.
Competing against five other contingents across Calbayog City, ONHS Hadang dancers performed an interpretation of Hadang Ritual called Panarit: Hadang sa Salog—a ritual that restores peace at Brgy. Oquendo Poblacion, which brings back a paradise-like state after a frightening phenomenon in the Hibatang River known as “tulos,” which could affect those who played or bathed in the river. As part of Brgy. Oquendo Poblacion’s festivity, the people honor their patron Saint Sr. Sto. Niño. Moreover, the ONHS Hadang dancers’ performance justified the mysterious and often overlooked ritual.
After the deliberation of the judges, Calbayog City National High School emerged as the Champion, while San Policarpo National High School and San Joaquin National High School finished second and third placers respectively.
Mrs. Maria Luz Murillo, School Principal II of Oquendo National High School, expressed her joy and gratitude to the teachers, choreographers, parents, dancers, and everyone who contributed in the success of the performance.
“We are proud of you. No one is a loser in this competition. We will come back stronger,” stated Mrs. Murillo.
It was a head-to-head battle among the competing contingents, yet ONHS Hadang dancers remained true to their core in the name of passion, dedication, and love for the arts.
The said Hadang Ritual Competition was part of the week-long celebration of the City Fiesta of Calbayog.
