INVESTITURE OF DR. BENJAMIN PECAYO AS 3RD UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT OF NwSSU TO TAKE PLACE TOMORROW

Calbayog, August 19, 2018 –

DR. BENJAMIN L. PECAYO will be formally installed as University President of the Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) in an investiture ceremony tomorrow , August 20, 2018, at the Socio-Cultural Center of NwSSU, Calbayog City.

Dr. Pecayo was appointed as 3rd University President by the NwSSU Board of Regents last May 11.

Known to be an achiever and a passionate leader, Dr. Pecayo obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the Eastern Visayas State University in 1987 and passed the Mechanical Engineer’s Licensure Examination a year after his graduation. Subsequently, he completed a master’s degree in Management Engineering from the University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu City. Later on, he earned a PhD in Education Management at the NwSSU.

Dr. Pecayo, fondly called Benjie, started teaching at Tiburcio Tancinco Memorial Institute of Science and Technology in 1988 and has since then stayed with the institution even after its conversion into NwSSU in 2009.

He was born on March 31, 1966. His father is from Taft, while her mother hails from Can-avid, both towns in Eastern Samar.

Commissioner J. Prospero De Vera III,CHED Chairperson and President of the NwSSU Board of Regents will lead the installation of the University President and will present the Symbols of Authority.
