Here are some libraries and organizations that provide FREE and downloadable Filipino eBooks. See comment below for the links.

I noticed that many free "online libraries" that were compiled or created during the pandemic are sadly inaccessible now. I feel like organizations and libraries who create digital library initiatives should plan for longevity and in some cases, the project will stop if the person involved or those maintaining it are no longer with the project or have stopped working in the organization.

Will be posting more free resources soon.

The HELOW visit was conducted at Milagrosa Elementary School and J. Platon Memorial School on February 20, 2026. The activity aimed to strengthen early literacy skills and promote a culture of reading among young learners.

Led by Dr. Noli B. Taroy, Education Program Supervisorโ€“LRMDS, the LRMDS team composed of Ms. Glaisa M. Redondo, Librarian II; Ms. Myra M. Ortega, Librarian I; and Mr. Lester L. Mercado, Project Development Officer II, visited the two schools. Joining the team was Dr. Eder Gallego, Education Program Supervisorโ€“TLE-EPP, who generously devoted his time in support of the HELOW activity.

At Milagrosa Elementary School, the team was warmly welcomed by the school head, Ma'am Jessie U. Dimaano, together with the teachers and learners. Aleyah C. Seraon, a Grade 6 student, served as storyteller for the kindergarten students. The children listened attentively, understood the story well, and gained valuable lessons from it. A reading assessment was also conducted for Grade 1 and Grade 2 learners to evaluate their reading abilities.

Likewise, the team visited J. Platon Memorial School under the leadership of Maโ€™am Merlita M. Lastimosa. Maโ€™am Fhemia Hang, Kindergarten teacher, served as storyteller for the kindergarten students. The children actively participated, listened carefully, and confidently answered the teacherโ€™s questions. Reading assessments were also conducted for Grade 1 and Grade 2 learners to assess their reading skills.

The HELOW visit was meaningful and impactful, as even in a short period of time, the SDO personnel were able to extend support and inspiration to the young learners. Together, we continue to strengthen literacy and foster a love for reading in our schools.
