"Buhay sa Mayapa" (Life in Mayapa)

follows the story of a married couple that has lived in Mayapa for their whole lives and know very little beyond it. It is a short documentary film that shows the rawness and the reality of the living conditions people face. With the relationships built by experiencing the same hurdles coupled with the same resilience and strength, the people of Mayapa show us what it's like to truly be part of a community.

"Mahirap pero masaya." is the recurring theme. No matter how difficult their lives can become, they have each other as beacons' of hope. This is a story about real people that deserve to have their voices amplified and heard and we are proud to have been able to use our privilege to do so.

Call of Faith: The Life of a Catholic Priest

The journey to becoming a priest is not an easy one, but being chosen by God as an instrument is a gift. This story showcases the life and devotion of a Catholic priest, Father Eugene, who is currently the Parish Priest of San Isidro Labrador Parish Church. At a young age, he joined the Knights of the Altar in his parish in Paete, marking the beginning of his vocation. He was greatly influenced by his grandmother's faith and compassion for others. From then on, he fell in love with his vocation and began to embrace a life of faith. As he grew up, he continued on his path, helping people and inspiring many. Although his journey has not been easy, as he encounters the floods and bumpy roads of life, he has managed to overcome these challenges through the help of God, serving as an instrument of peace in a world filled with chaos. His unwavering faith has shaped him into the man he is today—a person who serves God and his community with love and humility. His life is a living testament to the profound love that can be found in God.

The short documentary film produced by the grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences students explores the challenges faced by residents living near the river in Turbina, Calamba city in the province of Laguna. Through personal stories, we uncover their daily struggles against frequent storms and flooding, as well as their strategies to avoid disasters and to protect their homes. The documentary highlights the environmental challenges brought by their living situations, as well as the admirable resilience and hope of the residents, showcasing their determination to overcome hardship and maintain their way of life.

Explores the life of Tatay Mariano, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Guam, who has dedicated years to supporting his family from afar. Celebrated as a modern-day hero, he finally returns home after his contract ends, eager to reunite with his loved ones. However, the joy of reunion comes at a steep price: without his financial support, his family faces the harsh reality of life. Is it truly better to be with family and face hunger, or to endure the pain of separation for the sake of financial security?

Navigating the exploration of survival is not easy for a Filipino worker who's not handed the mandate of an easy life and successful attainment. One would find oneself looking for reasons for their continuous journey as the preachment of overwhelming debility enters their mind that's already inflamed by questions of why and how. Thereafter as forward beckons rebound, the feelings of joy and genuineness are a spark that keeps them going. In "Our Current Joys In Infinite Exhaustion" -stories of kindness, sacrifice, and love by Filipino workers daunted by the demands of living, are explored.
