CAINTA, RIZAL - CALABARZON is set to open a new avenue for Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners as it aims to open Business Writing as a journalism event that will harness their skills in livelihood, entrepreneurship, and technology-vocational learning, with separate Elementary and Secondary (Grades 7โ€“12) categories designed to provide developmentally appropriate opportunities for journalistic expression.

The event will give ALS learners a platform to turn practical experiences into meaningful stories. These may cover livelihood activities, entrepreneurship, technology-vocational skills, and community enterprises. Through journalism, learners can share stories that reflect their skills, aspirations, and experiences.

Business Writing will initially be offered as a concurrent session under the exhibition component. This will allow learners to experience the proposed event. It will also allow CALABARZON to test its initial concept and gather feedback from learners and facilitators.

The guidelines and mechanics will be developed in October. The exhibition will serve as a pilot run to test and refine these guidelines. Feedback will guide further enhancements. The long-term goal is to develop Business Writing into a formal journalism contest for ALS learners.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with quiet hearts, seeking Your divine refuge as the skies darken and the weather grows harsh. Protect every home, safeguard every traveler, and shield all who are vulnerable from the fierce winds and heavy rains.

Grant strength to those facing the storm, wisdom to our first responders, and peace to anxious minds. May Your comforting presence be our anchor, bringing safety, calmness, and hope until the skies clear.

Amen.
