Hi! This is Teacher Dianne! With my two decades of experience in working with preschool children, the need to incorporate movement activities has never been as important as it is now. With the increased number of hours spent in gadgets, inability to play outdoors and freely interact with other children, and the decreasing number of children in households, children's movement activities have been limited in countless ways. At The Happy Hive, movement is encouraged through songs, routines, the program, and the environment itself. Watch how children enjoy planned and spontaneous movement activities in one single day at The Happy Hive. π

Here are a few shots of our little Noah today, taking baby steps into the routines and the twists and turns of preschool life. As a new student, he is still experiencing separation anxiety, but he is slowly opening up, learning to trust a little more today than yesterday. He participated in our discussion time and our special activity of sorting toys in class this morning by putting two to three toys into their correct containers and places. He even pointed a toy on the floor after that which meant that he wanted it placed in its proper basket. Great going, Noah! πππ

Welcome children of Playschool Year 2025-2026! πππ Little feet came bouncing their way to our classroom again. π We had some getting to know time at the beginning of the class and naturally and smoothly proceeded with our routine. It almost felt like it wasn't our first day at all. βΊοΈ The kids had sorting activities as they were [re]introduced to the toys to help us keep the order of things in class. They were challenged as I mixed items from different baskets together. They were on their toes and were quite eager to have their turn to sort the toys in their appropriate containers. We sang several songs and had some time in the big movement area. We ended the day with a story about a girl going to school like them. And if you are wondering about the hats that they are wearing in the pictures, they are explorer's hats, showing that they are off to a new and exciting adventure this year. βΊοΈπππ
