THEY ERASED THIS FROM YOUR HISTORY BOOKS.
Before Manila was called Manila...
it was called MAYNILA. ๐
An Islamic kingdom.
Governed by a Rajah named Sulayman.
Connected to the Sultanate of Brunei.
Trading with China, Java, and the Islamic world.
And when Spain arrived in 1571 with their full armada โ
every ruler submitted.
Except one.
๐ WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED โ VERIFIED HISTORY:
๐น Rajah Sulayman told the Spanish in 1570:
"The people of Maynila are not like those of other islands.
They will not be subjugated by anyone."
โ Spanish Colonial Expedition Records (1570)
๐น On May 19, 1571 โ Spain arrived with the full armada
under Miguel Lรณpez de Legazpi.
Every surrounding ruler submitted.
Sulayman refused.

(Ateneo de Manila University Press, 1994)
๐น Sulayman gathered his warriors and positioned
his lantaka โ traditional bronze cannons โ
and prepared to defend the city that was his birthright.
โ Spanish Expedition Records (1570โ1571)
๐น Manila fell. Spain burned Maynila to the ground.
Built Intramuros on its ashes.
Replaced every mosque with a church.
Erased the Muslim identity of Manila from history.
โ William Henry Scott, Barangay (1994)
๐น But Sulayman did not die in the battle.
He escaped. He retreated to Pampanga.
He organized resistance. He formed new alliances.
He was STILL fighting months after Manila fell.
โ Spanish Colonial Records (1571)
๐น He made his final stand at the Battle of
Bangkusay Channel โ November 1571.
He fought. And he was killed.
He never surrendered.
He never converted.
He never bowed.

Manila was not always called Manila.
Before Spain arrived โ
it was called Seludong.
And it was a Muslim kingdom. ๐
Governed by Rajah Sulayman.
Connected to Brunei.
Trading with China and the Islamic world.
Muslim graves dating back to 1175 have been found
beneath the streets of Manila.
Spain arrived in 1571.
Burned it down.
Built Intramuros on the ashes.
And never told us what was there before.
This is not a theory.
This is in the Spanish colonial records.
His full story โ coming soon.
They told us the Philippines was discovered by Spain in 1521. ๐ต๐ญ
But 67,000-year-old human bones were just found here.
67,000 years.
That's older than the first humans to reach Europe.
That's older than the migration out of Africa.
And scientists have confirmed โ there was a real continent
called Sundaland that connected the Philippines to all of
Southeast Asia...
..and it was swallowed by the ocean 20,000 years ago.
Some people call it Lemuria.
And the ancient creation myths of the Philippines?
They begin with the ocean flooding the world.
Coincidence? Or memory?
Watch the full story ๐
History forgot this. We didn't.
Before it was called the Philippines...
it was called Sundaland.
And 67,000 years ago...
someone was already living there. ๐

Before Spain. Before the cross. Before the islands were even called
the Philippines...
There was already a civilization here.
A writing system. Gold-pegged teeth. Ocean-going warships. Tattooed
warriors. Equal rights for women. Six sovereign kingdoms.
This is what the colonizers tried to erase. ๐ต๐ญ
