Facts:
UP Tau Gamma Sigma was founded a year after the UP Tau Gamma Phi was founded. Our founding date is January 17, 1969.
Initially there was a mix up of dates. 1971 daw ang una. The first ever Sigma National known as 'Central Sigma', (CTGSI) Central Tau Gamma Sigma Inc. Convenors (me included pero medyo mas late na ako nakapasok as the only UP Sigma in the group) researched and consulted with some of the founding mothers to correct bits and pieces of the history. The founding date of UP TGS is January 17, 1969 not 1971. The seal was not the 'sexy' Celtic cross but instead is exactly the TGP seal. The colors then was green and gold then in later years reverted back to black and gold like the Phi.
Sedarum Saudara was and has never been the first Sigma. In fact, they are too, a group of women intellectuals (like the TGS) formed by UP Tau Gamma Phi at the time when there was a 'falling out' of the UP Tau Gamma Phi and UP Tau Gamma Sigma for reasons that the UP Tau Gamma Sigma concentrated on academics and had to lay-low. But the initiations (non-paddle but with physical initiations too) were carried out until 1970 for the charter batch.
Initially, it was really the UPTGP that was serious in the organization of the fraternity. UP TGS started as merely a counterpart for the camaraderie and they all belonged to the Political Science Club.
The 'Saudaris' produced UPSS that also excelled in their chosen field of endeavor and interest like former Mayor Marides Fernandez who contributed a lot not only to the Triskelions of MARIKINA but to others who sought her assistance. The only Saudari who accepted to be initiated is Sis Chloe Ceniza when the UP TGS was revived in December 1981. Among her batch mates are Sis Dinky Ruivivar, Sis Grace Corachea and Sis Macris Santos who is currently a co-BOT of mine in UP TGS Alumni Inc. (one of the UPTGS international point persons).
Their GLT counterpart was called a 'Supreme Saudari'.
The Sis R. Celino referred in the post is Sis Rowena 'Weng' Celino, the FIRST GLT. She later on wed to FF Restituto Alfonso.

It is because its most basic sense, the term “founding fathers” who founded or established our organization, the creator of Tenets of code of conduct. without them there would be no one called as a “TRISKELION” today!
“Great leaders speak their knowledge at the right time, in the right words, to the right person”.

are made for us, for the future leaders, officers and members. we all know; our founding fathers will not walk to this world for a lifetime. thats why they build this constitution for us not for them.
Thats why our founding fathers, together with the TGPGLOBAL officers. visit different council, chapter, officers and most especially to the members. to conduct a proper orientation and information.
“Listen to our founding fathers, without them you would not exist as a TRISKELION today.”
But there were also false leaders among us, just as there will be false teachers among you. they will secretly introduce destructive heresies, misinterpretation and information even denying the founding fathers existence.
We will “Rise to defend the name and honor of the fraternity whenever it is unjustly criticized”
TGPGLOBAL CONSTITUTION will bring us to the new era of supremacy, to bind us one, to act as one
into a single purpose TAU GAMMA PHI the TRISKELION grand FRATERNITY.

The difference between BROTHERHOOD and BARKADA system.
Brotherhood or Fraternity is an organization bound by principles or doctrines.
It is a group of people dictated by rules. Brotherhood also is a privilege, that can be stricken out from you anytime you GROSSLY violated the agreed principles or doctrines, hence the penalty of suspension or expulsion if warrants.
That is the difference of Brotherhood or Fraternity from all other organizations, thereby putting it in the highest order.
Whereas the barkada system is an informal type of organization, a groupie if you will, and based only on PERSONAL relationships of the members of the said groupie or barkada.
Since it is personal and informal, no rules or principles to abide by or exist whatsoever.
We also discourage na mag Brod na kayo ay gagawin pang mag kumpare or any personal relationships for that matter.
Dahil pag nagka problema yung Brod sa Kapatiran of which you have personal relationship with such as kumpare or bff, natural na ipagtatanggol mo yan at magiging bulag ka kung ano man ang infraction nya.
Dyan nagsisimula ang kanlungan at kampihan.
If ever we have personal relationships with our fellow Triskelions, we should always put the BROTHERHOOD first ABOVE anything else, kahit kumpare mo pa yan or bff.
