San Manuel Elementary School Conducts Safety Lectures and Simultaneous Drills in Multi-Agency Partnership
In a collaborative effort, San Manuel Elementary School, in partnership with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), Rural Health Unit (RHU), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), and Barangay San Manuel, conducted a comprehensive safety activity today, March 12, 2026, featuring a series of lectures followed by simultaneous drills to promote disaster preparedness, health awareness, and student safety.
The program began with an Earthquake Preparedness Lecture led by the MDRRMC, where learners and staff were briefed on earthquake safety, proper evacuation procedures, and essential preparedness measures.
Next, the First Aid and Medical Preparedness Lecture was conducted by the RHU, teaching learners basic first aid skills and how to respond to common medical emergencies like earthquakes and fires.
This was followed by a Fire Safety Lecture delivered by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), where learners were instructed on fire prevention, safety measures, and proper evacuation procedures during fire emergencies.
An Anti-Bullying Lecture was also delivered by the Philippine National Police (PNP), emphasizing respect, kindness, and responsibility, and encouraging learners to maintain a safe and supportive school environment by reporting incidents of bullying.
After the lectures, participants took part in the Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, practicing the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and orderly evacuation to designated safe areas. This was followed by a Fire Safety Drill conducted by the BFP in observance of Fire Prevention Month, giving learners, teachers and barangay officials the opportunity to apply fire suppression using fire extinguisher.
School Head, Lilian B. Azcueta expressed her gratitude to all participating agencies for their support, highlighting the importance of equipping learners with knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively during emergencies while fostering a culture of safety, preparedness, and responsibility.
Through this initiative, San Manuel Elementary School continues to strengthen disaster readiness, health awareness, and positive values among its learners.
