Happy birthday to our former Timber Design instructorโthe one who proves that bonus questions can come from literally ANYTHING: funny moments, random facts, side stories, and things we definitely never saw in the books.
Known for being super happy-go-lucky in class, but also famous for bonus questions coming from the most random places. One moment weโre computing stresses and loads, the next moment weโre answering questions that make us think, โ๐๐ฏ๐จ๐ณ., ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต ๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐ฐ ๐ด๐ข ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐จ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ?โ
Not just an engineer, but also a dancer, photographer, and certified multi-talented Engr.! Sobrang puti niya, kaya siya raw si 'Faker'.
May your birthday be as strong as a well-designed timber beam, as flexible as your teaching style, and as surprising as your exams.

NEWS | TSSP-CSU studes, adviser join Transpo Con, present mobility studies in UPLB
The Transportation Science Society of the Philippines - Cagayan State University Chapter (TSSP-CSUC) participated in the annual transportation conference and presented their research at the University of the Philippines - Los Baรฑos on December 3-4, 2025.
Sixteen participants from the Civil Engineering department majoring in Transportation Engineering joined in the 31st Transportation Science Society of the Philippines Conference and the 4th Workshop on Young Researchers.
The two-day conference revolved around lectures and workshops related to the theme โDriving Smart Mobility Change: Innovations, Equity and Climate Resilience for a Connected Sustainable Futureโ.
It aimed to create solutions and innovations to address the nation's long-standing transportation problems, particularly traffic congestion.
Moreover, Engr. Ralph Angelo Estiller, faculty member, discussed their research projects before the experts, focusing on challenges in Tuguegarao City related to roads and airports.
Among the research presented is the โImpacts of Extreme Flooding Event on the Volume-to-Capacity Ratio of Major Road Networks: The Case of Tuguegarao Cityโ, authored by Engr. John Michael Casibang, Dr. Emer Quezon, and Engr. Estiller.
Furthermore, Keleph John A. Basmayor, TSSP-CSUC Vice President, emphasized the importance of participating in such an event to comprehend mobility systems and to create innovations.
โJoining this conference is important because it allows us to understand how real mobility systems work beyond what we study in class. During the research workshop, we learned smart innovations that we can apply in our future career as a transportation engineer,โ Basmayor said.
Alumna of CSU and Associate Professor in UPLB, Dr. Ma. Bernadette Lim, served as one of the panelists, discussed the career opportunities and challenges in transportation during the research workshop and also assured to aid CSU transportation student-researchers in their studies.
TSSP-CSUC also helped design solutions to the challenges of mobility on a regional scale, organizing the first-ever Regional Transportation Science Engineering Conference held at the Red Eagle Gymnasium last February 27-28, 2025.

Cagayan State University - Carig Campus alumna Maria Bernadette B. Lim, inspired young researchers, including those from the TSSP-CSU Chapter, with her message during the Workshop on Young Researchers (WYRe) held at the University of the Philippines - Los Banos on December 4.
She emphasized the importance of being open to change, as transportation planning is a continuous process. She also noted that new ideas should be shared with experts to develop concrete solutions and enhance the country's transportation system.
โKeep on learning and be open to change, as mentioned a while ago, transportation planning is a need that is continuous hindi siya nauubos. Note that you canโt solve problem alone, you should have a team. If you have good ideas, you share it to your advisers, experts and together we can develop complete solution and help our country improve yung ating situation sa transportation,โ Lim said.
