The Risk Resiliency Program Project LAWA at BINHI (RRP-PLaB) successfully conducted the Sustainability Training in the Municipality of Lugait, Misamis Oriental, in collaboration with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and with the continued support of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

The activity gathered partner-beneficiaries through a series of participatory sessions including the administration of the Assessment Tool, formulation of the Community Sustainability Plan, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Oath of Commitment, and site visit activities. These initiatives were conducted to strengthen the readiness and capability of communities in sustaining the gains and outputs of the program beyond implementation.

Site monitoring activity was conducted in Barangay Alanib, Municipality of Lantapan, in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), barangay officials, and partner staff to assess the identified areas for communal gardening and fishpond development under the Risk Resiliency Program Project LAWA at BINHI (RRP-PLaB).

The proposed communal gardening site covers a total of 2 hectares, while the identified fishpond area spans approximately 1,500 square meters. Through collaborative validation and on-site assessment, the activity aimed to ensure the suitability, readiness, and sustainability potential of the areas identified for implementation.

More than the turnover of project outputs, the activity symbolized the continued commitment of the community to sustain and nurture the Risk Resiliency Program - Project LAWA at BINHI project outputs.

The Sustainability Training served as a venue for partner-beneficiaries to reflect on their shared responsibilities in maintaining the established projects and ensuring that the benefits of the program continue beyond implementation.

A significant highlight of the activity was the Financial Literacy Session facilitated by an augmented staff from the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP). Through this session, participants were guided on proper budgeting, saving, ug maayong pagdumala sa ilang kita ug resources, importanteng kahibalo aron mas mapalig-on pa ang ilang pamilya ug panginabuhian.

The formal turnover also reflected the growing sense of ownership and accountability among the beneficiaries and local stakeholders, proving that sustainability is best achieved pinaagi sa pagtinabangay ug aktibong partisipasyon sa komunidad.
