Alam mo bang may mahalagang papel at tungkulin ang mga Local Government Units (LGUs) sa sektor ng edukasyon? 🤔

🔎 Sa pagpapatuloy ng ating pagbabahagi ng mga key findings mula sa assessment na sumusuri sa estado ng civic education sa bansa, alamin naman natin ngayon ang mga key findings sa LGUs.

📜 Sa ilalim ng Local Government Code of 1991, ang mga LGUs ay maaaring magpatupad ng mga proyekto sa edukasyon sa kanilang mga nasasakupan at maglaan ng pondo dito mula sa Special Education Fund (SEF). Kasama rin ang mga Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) na may tungkulin namang magpatupad ng mga proyekto para sa mga kabataan.

Makikita natin na sa tamang suporta mula sa LGUs, mas maraming kabataang Pilipino ang magkakaroon ng access sa de-kalidad na edukasyon at oportunidad para sa mas aktibong partisipasyon sa demokratikong pamamahala. 🏛️

Did you know September 15 is the International Day of Democracy?

PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (PHINMA COC) was officially launched as a SIBIKA HUB in Cagayan de Oro, marking a significant educational and civic engagement milestone. This milestone is a product of a groundbreaking partnership with the USAID and The Asia Foundation through the Youth Leadership for Democracy (YouthLed), a project that aims to increase civic engagement and strengthen the youth's participation in democratic governance.

The event was witnessed by Senior High School students and faculty from different schools in Cagayan de Oro City and supported by DAKILA and other civic groups. One of the highlights was the exclusive film showing of DELIKADO, made possible by ACTIVE VISTA.

Faculty, and Students from different senior high schools in Cagayan de Oro City witnessed the launch.

As a SIBIKA HUB, PHINMA COC now serves as a resource network and a hub for civic education and engagement in Cagayan de Oro. This collaboration signifies a significant step forward in fostering civic consciousness among today's youth.

💡 Mahalaga ang papel na ginagampanan ng mga teachers at educators sa pagtuturo ng Civic Education o Sibika sa mga kabataan. Ito ay importante sa paghubog ng kamalayan at pag-unawa ng mga kabataan sa civic engagement na nakaka-apekto sa kanilang partisipasyon sa mga demokratikong gawain. 🏛️

Ngayong National Teachers’ Month, sama-sama nating alamin ang mga key findings mula sa isang assessment na isinagawa ng YouthLed kasama ang 🤝🏻 University of the Philippines Public Administration Research and Extension Services Foundation, Inc. (UPPAF) na naglalayong suriin ang estado ng civic education sa bansa.

📌 Ang mga key findings mula sa pag-aaral na ito ay maaaring maging basehan sa pag-buo ng mga learning resources 📖 at training programs na makatutulong sa mga teachers at educators para sa mas epektibong pagtuturo ng civic education sa mga paaralan at iba pang mga organisasyon.

Bahagi ng assessment na ito ang pag-alam kung paano itinuturo ang civic education sa ilang 🏫 public and private high schools at higher education institutions. Kasama dito ang pagsuri sa mga existing civic engagement practices at programs ng mga local government units at civil society organizations.
