USTP-BALUBAL KICKS OFF WOW 2026 WITH A DAY OF WELCOME, UNITY, AND ORIENTATION

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines–Balubal Campus officially kicked off WOW (Week of Welcome) 2026 on August 6, 2026, carrying the theme “REFLECT, RISE, AND REDEFINE: Reflecting on the Past, Shaping the Future.” The first day brought together new and returning students through a series of activities designed to welcome them into the campus community, introduce key university personnel, and set a positive tone for the new academic year.

The morning program opened with the Marching of Colors, followed by the invocation, national anthem, and USTP Hymn. Student leaders then led the Unity Dance, creating an atmosphere of energy and togetherness. Dr. Dennis Apuan, Ph.D., Acting Campus Director, delivered the welcome address and introduced the faculty and staff. Inspirational messages from the program chairs, along with performances from the BTLED, BSIT, and BSA students, added enthusiasm to the celebration. A key highlight was the introduction of the newly elected Supreme Student Council officers for SY 2026–2027, who pledged their commitment to serving the student body with honesty and dedication.

The afternoon session shifted its focus toward helping students better understand the policies and services available within the university and the community. Students participated in a virtual campus tour and received orientations on academic and university policies, the Student Manual, barangay policies, fire safety and student safety, health services, and library policies. These discussions aimed to equip students with the knowledge and responsibilities needed to become respectful, informed, and responsible members of the USTP-Balubal community.

The first day of WOW 2026 concluded with another Unity Dance, followed by closing remarks from Dr. Dennis Apuan, Acting Campus Director, and the closing salvo. Through a combination of welcoming activities, student performances, leadership introductions, and essential orientations, the opening day successfully brought the USTP-Balubal community together and encouraged students to begin the academic year with confidence, responsibility, and a renewed sense of purpose.
