**October: The Month of the Holy Rosary**

October is a special month in the Catholic tradition, as it is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. This devotion highlights the importance of prayer and reflection on the life of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. The Holy Rosary, a beautiful meditative practice, allows the faithful to enter into a deeper relationship with God while contemplating the mysteries of Christ's life, death, and resurrection.

The month of October encourages us to take time out of our busy lives to pray the Rosary, whether individually or as a community. Many parishes hold special gatherings, and families are invited to come together to honor this sacred tradition. The simple yet profound repetition of prayers fosters peace, joy, and unity among believers.

As we embark on this month, let us embrace the power of the Rosary in our spiritual journey, seeking strength and guidance from our Blessed Mother.

Happy Feast Day to our Guardian Angels! ❤️

Today we celebrate the feast of our Guardian Angels. They are God's messengers who are always by our side to protect us. Angels delivered messages from God, protected people from dangers and rescued them.

They are mentioned in many places in the Bible. " The New Testament Acts of the Apostles tells in chapter 12 how St. Peter was led out of prison by an angel. " Psalm 91:10-12 also beautifully tells us how God's Angels care for us.

The belief that we each have a guardian angel has been common to Christians for hundreds of years. It is very comforting to know and believe that we each have an angel guarding and protecting us.

Our guardian angel is a gift from our loving God. They are given to us to guide our thoughts, words and actions and keep us from all harm and evil.

The picture of a guardian angel that we often see is an angel protecting a little child as he or she walks over a small bridge.

We can say this brief prayer as often as we would like to throughout the day:

Angel of God, my guardian dear
to whom God's love, entrusts me here.
Ever this day, be at my side
to light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.

A Rosary a Day Keeps the Devil Away

The rosary is one of the most powerful spiritual weapons entrusted to the faithful by the Church. For centuries, Catholics have turned to the beads of the rosary not only as a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary but also as a shield against the attacks of evil. The simple act of praying the rosary daily carries within it a profound truth: through prayer, meditation, and intercession, the forces of darkness are kept at bay, and the soul is strengthened to walk in holiness.

The Power of Prayer

The rosary is more than a repetition of prayers. It is a contemplative journey into the mysteries of Christ’s life, from His incarnation to His resurrection and glory. Each Hail Mary is like a spiritual heartbeat, drawing us closer to Christ through His Mother. This prayer engages the mind, heart, and soul, reminding us of God’s saving work and inviting us to align our lives with His divine plan. In this way, the rosary strengthens us against temptations and instills peace in our hearts.

Mary’s Maternal Protection

The Blessed Virgin Mary is often called the “terror of demons,” not by her own power but by the grace of God who chose her to be the Mother of His Son. When we hold the rosary, we call upon her intercession, seeking the same maternal protection she gave Jesus. History testifies to her powerful intercession—from the victory at the Battle of Lepanto to countless personal miracles experienced by ordinary believers. To pray the rosary is to place oneself under her mantle, safe from the snares of the enemy.

A Daily Spiritual Shield

Just as one eats daily to nourish the body, the rosary nourishes the soul when prayed consistently. The devil seeks to weaken us through distraction, sin, and despair, but a life rooted in prayer builds resistance to his influence. The rosary is a daily habit that forms a shield of grace. By meditating on the mysteries, we draw strength from Christ’s example and find courage to resist evil in all its forms.

Living the Message

Praying the rosary should not end with words; it must inspire action. Each decade invites us to imitate Christ’s humility, charity, and obedience. It challenges us to live with love, serve others, and grow in faith. The rosary is not only a weapon of defense but also a tool of transformation. It makes us peacemakers in a world torn by conflict, hopeful in the face of suffering, and faithful in times of trial.

Conclusion

“A rosary a day keeps the devil away” is not just a slogan; it is a profound spiritual truth. In a world filled with temptation, confusion, and moral struggles, the rosary remains a lifeline to God’s grace. It is a chain that binds us to Christ and a shield that wards off the powers of darkness. By embracing this daily devotion, we walk under the light of Mary’s guidance and the strength of Christ’s victory, ensuring that the devil has no hold over our lives.
