Farm Tourism Forum 2026 at Alomah’s Place and Nature Farm | June 22

The Farm Tourism Innovation, Sustainability, and Resilience Forum at Alomah’s Place and Nature Farm was pure magic!

The day kicked off with an inspiring farm tour circuit, visiting Aval’s Bee Farm and Apiary, Kumakay River Farm, and Alomah’s Place and Nature Farm. The fresh air, buzzing bees, and lush green landscapes reminded everyone why farm tourism feels so special.

In the afternoon, DOT-10 Regional Director Marie Elaine S. Unchuan delivered a heartfelt opening message. Participants then heard powerful stories and practical insights from Atty. Ferdinand M. Taglucop of Taglucop Strawberry Farm and Farmer-Scientist Henry S. Binahon of Binahon Agro-Forestry Farm.

Huge thanks to the LGU Manolo Fortich and Manolo Fortich Tourism for providing transportation throughout the activity.

DOT-10 extends its gratitude to everyone who attended and brought so much passion. The future of farm tourism in Region 10 is truly growing strong in the fields!

What an inspiring day at SALAAM 2026 and RIHLAH — the Philippines’ biggest convention for Halal and Muslim-friendly tourism, taking place from June 19 to 21, 2026, at Quantum Skyview, Gateway Mall, Quezon City!

The Halal Tourism and Trade Expo kicked off yesterday with a vibrant showcase of Halal-certified products and Muslim-friendly resort accommodations. Today, RIHLAH brought together key players for insightful learning, meaningful conversations, and valuable partnerships to boost Muslim-friendly travel across the country.

Department of Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay graced the opening yesterday and returned today to observe the forum’s success. She congratulated the organizers and expressed her strong commitment to making the event even bigger next year.

Representing Northern Mindanao, DOT-10 Regional Director Marie Elaine S. Unchuan and Supervising Tourism Operations Officer Lea M. Apal joined the important discussions, highlighting the region’s potential as a warm and welcoming destination for Muslim travelers.

From pristine beaches and nature escapes to rich culture and genuine hospitality, Northern Mindanao will continue to work for Halal and Muslim-friendly tourism!

The Department of Tourism - Region 10 (DOT-10) proudly supports the opening of the Lambagan Gallery in Aglayan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. Datu Waway Saway of the Talaandig People leads this inspiring initiative, transforming Tuna Don’s Seafoods and TDS Cafe into a vibrant art gallery.

The Lambagan Gallery showcases Bukidnon’s rich culture, traditions, and heritage through stunning soil paintings. These unique artworks powerfully express the Talaandig community’s deep connection to the land and their identity. This initiative highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of local artists while inviting locals and visitors to discover and appreciate Indigenous culture.

DOT-10 actively champions efforts that promote culture and heritage tourism. The Lambagan Gallery now inspires both residents and travelers, elevates local art, and strengthens cultural pride in Northern Mindanao.

DOT Region 10 took part in the gathering for the presentation of the Black Soldier Fly: Food Waste Management Facility initiative of the Higala Group on June 18, 2026 at Ricardos by Cucina Higala, Brgy Mampayag, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

The activity highlights a strong support for sustainable farm tourism in the region. It promotes the idea of turning food waste into useful products such as animal feed and organic fertilizer. DOT Region 10 expressed support for this kind of innovation as it helps protect the environment. This initiative also encourages local farms in Bukidnon and other areas in Region 10 to become models of farm-to-table sustainability. It is expected to inspire more eco-friendly tourism and agricultural practices in the region.
