Today, let's look at the incredible lifespan of a common household item: 🆃🅷🅴 🅸🅼🅼🅾🆁🆃🅰🅻 🅶🅻🅰🆂🆂. 🧴

Glass is one of the most durable man-made materials. While it is made from natural resources, its structure is so tough that nature has a hard time breaking it back down.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙆𝙚𝙮 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙩: 1 MILLION YEARS. A single glass bottle can take up to one million years to decompose in the environment—and it may stay intact even longer in a landfill.

• Unlike organic materials, there are no microorganisms that can "eat" or digest glass, meaning it doesn't truly biodegrade.

• Over time, glass only breaks into smaller and smaller pieces through physical erosion, eventually returning to its original form: sand.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮: Because glass lasts practically forever, we should never treat it as "trash." Since it is 100% and infinitely recyclable, choosing to reuse and recycle glass is one of the best ways to reduce our impact on the planet.
