As national policies and operational strategies roll out from the Central Office down to our schools, the true weight of ex*****on inevitably rests on the shoulders of our School Heads.

In the field, school leaders are often tasked with translating broad, top-down mandates into real-world action. Frequently, these policies encounter complex local realities—where infrastructure, resources, and community context demand immediate adaptation.

Beyond academic and instructional leadership, the portfolio of a School Head has expanded significantly. Today's school leaders directly oversee:

Health & Nutrition: School-based feeding programs and health interventions.

Safety & Security: Campus disaster preparedness, security protocols, and risk reduction.

Local Partnerships: Harmonizing national mandates with Local Government Unit (LGU) initiatives and community programs.

At Sorsogon National High School, we recognized early on that unaddressed bullying and behavioral disruptions destroy the peaceful, happy learning environment our students deserve. To protect our learners' safety and academic performance, we implemented our ONE STRIKE POLICY—and the results speak for themselves: a 75% reduction in recorded bullying incidents and school troubles! 📉✨

Here is how our approach works:

Action for Every Incident: No report goes ignored. We address every behavioral issue swiftly and decisively.

Modular Placement for Severe Violations: Erring students involved in severe bullying or major infractions are transitioned out of mainstream classes and placed into specialized modular programs.

Education Without Ostracization: We do not abandon or ostracize problem students. They receive appropriate, targeted educational programs while removing the immediate disturbance from the majority.

A Safer Environment: Mainstream classrooms remain peaceful, safe, and focused on learning, while erring students get the individualized focus they need to reform.

SORSOGON NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL: MOVING LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT FORWARD THROUGH TECHNOLOGY

Sorsogon National High School’s Learning and Development (L&D) Program is now fully functional in accordance with the Department of Education’s framework for professional learning and development.

Through the leadership of Dr. Evelyn Mella, L&D Coordinator, SNHS utilizes its Learning Management System (LMS) in professional development activities such as INSET and Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions.

With this digitalized system, teachers who actively participate in professional learning activities are automatically issued Certificates of Participation online through email—eliminating the need for printed or hard-copy certificates.

This innovation makes the L&D process more efficient, paperless, accessible, and technology-driven, while providing teachers with convenient digital records of their participation and professional learning activities.

To date, Sorsogon National High School is the only school practicing an L&D system that utilizes an LMS for the management of professional development activities and automated issuance of certificates.

Another step forward in our commitment to innovative, responsive, and future-ready education.

💻 DIGITALIZED FORMS: ANOTHER STEP TOWARD A SMARTER SORSOGON NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL!

This 1st Term, Sorsogon National High School has successfully implemented its digitalized forms, making the preparation of the SF9 faster, easier, and more efficient.

With our digitalized system, the Class Adviser only needs to input the final grade for each subject—and presto! The SF9 is automatically generated, complete with all the necessary details, and ready for printing. 📄✨

This innovation saves time, reduces repetitive work, and helps make school processes more efficient for our teachers.

Our heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Kris Doctama, the School Registrar for her unstoppable innovation and dedication in continuously improving our digital forms and systems.

School Intramurals is not just an activity. It is an experience.

It is a moment for our learners to have fun, build friendships, discover their talents, and learn valuable lessons beyond the four walls of the classroom.

As educators, we want our learners to experience what high school life truly means—to laugh, cheer, compete, cooperate, make friends, and create memories they will carry with them long after graduation.

Intramurals gives them the opportunity to mingle with students from different sections, meet new friends, work as a team, and learn how to win with humility and accept defeat with grace.

Because education is not confined to books, lessons, and examinations. Sometimes, the most meaningful lessons happen on the playing field, in the cheering crowd, and in the friendships we build along the way.

Sorsogon National High School is grateful to the Marcial O. Rañola Memorial School (MORMS) school personnel from Guinobatan, Albay, for choosing SNHS as the venue for their benchmarking activity.
